Victory Afghanistan invites applications for the position of Volunteer Mentorship Programme Coordinator at a critical stage in the programme’s development.

This is a structured, execution-focused coordination role within a growing educational initiative serving Afghan students pursuing higher education and professional advancement pathways.

About the Programme

The Mentorship Programme currently supports:

• 117 students
• 30 active mentors

This is a structured, outcome-driven pathway designed to secure higher education placements, professional certifications, and measurable career progression. It is not a casual networking initiative, it is a coordinated system with defined objectives and active deliverables.

The Role

You will provide operational coordination during a pivotal period in which we are actively:

• Placing students into accredited online degree programmes
• Delivering structured workshops
• Coordinating high-level guest speakers
• Supporting mentors and mentees across multiple academic and professional tracks
• Tracking progress and maintaining programme integrity

There are no fixed weekly meetings. The role is fully remote and flexible. You will report directly to Maria (based in Colombia), requiring comfort with cross–time zone coordination.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

Mencap Volunteer Visitor (Woodwork, Football and Walking - Coventry)

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

We are looking for a patient and caring volunteer to visit a man in his early 60s who lives in a supported living home in central Coventry. He enjoys going to watch the football, woodwork and crafts, gentle walks, and watching sports and films.

This is an Out and about visit role which means your visits are likely to be longer, very active and the person you visit will often take an active part in planning your outings and activities in the community. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. The D D McPhail Charitable Settlement CIO (DDMCS), charity number 1197598, is an active grant making
Charitable Incorporated Organisation. It has succeeded the D.D. McPhail Charitable Settlement, charity
number 267588, which was founded in 1973 and operational till 2023.

DDMCS aims to support 2 or 3 major multi-year grant projects each year, which are actively sought by the
Trustees to enable small / medium sized charities to make a significant or step change in their activities. The
original trust deed and now the CIO constitution specifies three key areas of preference in the UK around:

• Furtherance of medical research,
• Care of the disabled particularly disabled children, and
• Care of the aged and infirm

The Trustees have wide discretion to support other charitable activities in the UK. There is more detail in
the annual report available via the Charity Commission website and the charity’s own website that outlines
the activities of the charity. Within these broad areas the Trustees recently agreed, following a strategic
review, to focus for the next grant making cycle on charities supporting care for the physical and mental
wellbeing of children living in poverty.

Recent grant support has enabled a number of significant multi-year projects, including:

• British Dyslexia Association - supporting the creation of Local Outreach Hubs to increase access to dyslexia advice, assessment and early intervention within communities.

• Candlelighters - funding a Family Wellbeing Practitioner to improve emotional and practical support for families affected by childhood cancer.

• IPSEA - funding a SEND Policy Manager to strengthen national policy influencing for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

• The Myton Hospices - supporting the development of the Volunteer Service, enhancing capacity and patient experience across hospice services.

We are seeking a Chair Designate to join our board, with a view to taking over as Chair in 2027. The Chair provides inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance and strategic direction for the charity. They act as an ambassador for the organisation, working closely with the Director and fellow Trustees to maximise impact for beneficiaries. DDMCS does not undertake any fundraising activity, as all grant making is supported through the charity’s long-established investment portfolio. As a result, there is no requirement for the Chair to have fundraising experience.

The Guild is looking for a professional to join our Trustee Board as an External Trustee. The Trustee Board is ultimately responsible for overseeing the affairs of the Guild. Our Trustees must ensure that the Guild is well run and delivers the objectives for which it has been set up.

It is an exciting time for the Guild as we progress with our 2022-2027 strategic plan and continue to deliver excellent services for our students. A strong and active Trustee Board is essential to support and guide the organisation’s work.

We would encourage candidates with current or previous experience in a membership organisation; however, this is not necessarily a requirement. We would be particularly interested to hear from individuals with a background in Student Unions or the Charity sector; previous experience as a Students’ Union Officer would be advantageous, but these are not essential.

The Guild welcomes applications from a wide range of backgrounds that are reflective of the full diversity of Birmingham’s community and the West Midlands, and in particular we welcome applications from people of colour as we seek to continually increase diversity within our governance structures.

Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tends to be around a couple of hours, sometimes shorter or longer, depending on what you plan to do.

In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:

• Sitting and having a chat
• Checking in on their well- being
• Going out to a local café/pub for a meal/drink
• Take part on community activities like visiting a place of interest, go shopping etc.
• Enjoying a walk
• A craft activity at home

As a Mencap volunteer visitor you will be:

We’re now looking for a Volunteer Trustee with strong experience in special education to help guide and strengthen our specialist FE College.

What the role involves

In addition to the standard responsibilities of a trustee, you will:

• Focus on the delivery and development of post-16 education for learners with vision impairment and complex needs

• Scrutinise the quality of teaching and learning

• Provide constructive challenge and professional insight as part of our Education Advisory Committee

• Work closely with our College Principal to champion high-quality, person-centred education

This opportunity would suit someone with experience as:

• A senior leader within a SEND provision

• A headteacher or principal

• A SEND improvement partner

• An Ofsted inspector

Our Board meets seven times a year, with optional invitations to events and celebrations. Trustees are encouraged to attend in person, though online attendance is possible where needed. Travel expenses are covered, and overnight accommodation can be arranged for trustees living outside Devon.

We're seeking a reliable Volunteer Assistant Coach for every Saturday, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at 1 Selby Road, White Hart Lane, London - Haringey N17 8JL. Support our free basketball training for boys and girls aged 11-18, helping them develop skills, make friends, and stay active in a fun, supportive environment!

What you'll do:

• Assist with drills, skill-building activities, and small-sided games during the full 2-hour sessions every Saturday.

• Support a positive vibe for all abilities – no coaching experience needed, just energy and passion for basketball!

• Help manage equipment and ensure smooth delivery alongside the lead coach.

What we offer:

• Travel expenses paid (public transport receipts required).

• Hands-on experience, training provided, DBS support, and strong CV reference.

• Ongoing weekly commitment during term time.

• Love of basketball and working with youth (11-18).
