At RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch, our charity shops are looking for friendly, local volunteers to join our team and help make our shops in Chesham and Burnham a huge success. Make new friends, have fun, and help us help more animals!
As a volunteer Charity Shop Assistant, you would join a small team working with the shop manager and 1-2 other volunteers to help make it a success and raise vital funds for animal welfare.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Helping customers in the shop find what they need.
- Accepting donations of items and money from the public.
- Processing sales through the till and card machine, including Gift Aid. (Training is provided but if you are not comfortable using the till, please get in touch because we have plenty of other tasks that do not involve the till).
- Sorting through donated items to determine what we can sell.
- Preparing donated items for sale by steaming and hanging items.
- Merchandising stock on the shop floor.
- Creating attractive shop window displays.
What We’re Looking For:
- Friendly, local volunteers who are confident talking to people.
- Retail experience would be ideal but is not necessary as full training will be given.
- We are ideally aiming for someone who is flexible and can offer an ongoing commitment, preferably 8 hours per week.
- Good communication skills and numeracy skills.
- You will need to be aged 16 or over.

Practical Considerations:
- Online induction - you’ll need to complete an online induction, you will need basic IT skills and access to a computer. If you are not able to use IT, we do have a paper-based induction as an alternative.

What you’ll be doing
We’re on the lookout for a People Executive to join our busy people-first HR Team. This role is equivalent to a HR Assistant/HR Generalist position. A mid-level role, this is a great opportunity to enter into the world of HR, further your understanding of HR functions, and build your career as a HR professional.
In this role you will be:
- Taking ownership over our HRIS/HRM system, maintaining staff files, data, contracts and information in accordance with strict DPA/GPDR standar
- Working to issue, update and send out an array of HR correspondence from role offers, through to contracts through to outcome letters;
- ·Supporting our Leave of Absence system and process, screening leave requests, sending for departmental level approval and seeking medical evidence as required;
- Working on a patterned basis to monitor the People Team / People Services inbox, responding to queries, triaging and escalating more complicated queries to specialist colleauges;
- Note-taking meetings, investigations, disciplinaries and interviews as required;
- Supporting internal communication and culture through assisting with monthly staff newsletters, social events and reward events;
- ·Supporting with the development of industry leading Perks & Benefits including updating perks databases, discount codes and partner offers as required;
- Assisting with volume and specialist recruitment campaigns including posting job ads, longlisting candidates, shortlisting, and supporting interviews as required;
- Providing support and specialist advice to Line Managers, advocating and championing the highest standards of company policies and procedures;
- Assisting with offboarding including exit interviews and leaver process;
- Ensuring consistency of devolved HR practices implemented by line managers, acting as a checkpoint/escalation point for complex cases
- Other People / HR related tasks as directed by the People & Culture Manager.

Required:

RSPCA Finchley, Golders Green, Hendon & District Branch
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual who can devote their time to volunteering with us as a Volunteer Coordinator, helping specifically to recruit, train and retain volunteers across the branch.
This role focuses on building and strengthening the branch’s volunteer base, enabling us to deliver vital local animal welfare services while ensuring our charity shops operate efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensuring role-specific training is completed
- Supporting managers and coordinators with the induction of new volunteers

- Acting as a key point of contact for volunteer-related queries & assist with management of the volunteer inbox
