ThinkForward exists to support young people to create better and brighter futures. We want them to be able to identify, realise and shape their aspirations, and be ready to make a successful transition into work.

Young people experiencing barriers such as challenging relationships, living in low-income households, or growing up in areas with a lack of access to opportunities can be confronted with hurdles. Without the right support, these barriers can lead to a high risk of unemployment and long-term effects on career and life chances.

There are more than 900,000 16-24-year-olds in the UK who are not at school or college, or don’t have a job or training place. Our ambition is to prevent young people becoming one of these statistics. 

About the role

We are seeking trustees who bring sound judgement, a proportionate and risk-based approach to governance, and a commitment to supporting the organisation to achieve its mission. Our trustees understand the importance of balancing effective oversight with constructive challenge, helping to ensure that ThinkForward remains a safe, sustainable and high-performing charity for the young people we serve.

ThinkForward’s board is made up of members, who are recruited, selected and approved by the Board of Trustees. Each trustee serves a three-year term.

What we ask of you:

• Attend at least one Trustee training programme as part of your induction so that you understand the work we deliver
• Attend Trustee meetings, which are held four times per year. These are generally 1.5 hours in duration and are a mix of online and in person meetings in London. Trustees are expected to attend at least three meetings per year.
• In addition, we have a subcommittee structure which also meets throughout the year. You will be asked to join one at least one subcommittee.

Person Specification

We are particularly interested in individuals who are willing to use their expertise generously, act as ambassadors for ThinkForward, and support the organisation's continued growth, impact and long-term sustainability.

We welcome applications from individuals who can contribute senior-level expertise and insight in at least one of the following areas:

• Safeguarding policy and practice, with a strong understanding of protecting vulnerable young people and creating safe organisational cultures.
• Public policy, influencing and advocacy, particularly within the charity, education, youth or social mobility sectors.
• Public sector commissioning and contracting, including experience of local authority and central government procurement, commissioning and the delivery of services through the voluntary sector.
• Fundraising and philanthropy, including knowledge of the UK charity funding landscape, strategic income generation, developing sustainable funding partnerships and what healthy fundraising looks like for UK charities today.

Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW), the nation’s leading charity for rescuing and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers, is entering a transformative era. We are seeking two passionate individuals from North Wales to join our Trustee Board. To ensure we represent our communities effectively, at least one successful candidate must be a Welsh speaker.

As a Trustee, you will provide the strategic oversight and financial stewardship necessary to ensure the charity remains legally compliant and well-managed for the benefit of the dogs in our care.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Oversight: Define organizational goals, set targets, and evaluate performance.

You do not need to be an animal rescue expert, but you must possess a heart for animal welfare and a head for governance.

• Requirements: Strategic vision, sound judgment, excellent communication, and a collaborative spirit.
• Time Commitment: A minimum of 6–8 hours per month, primarily during evenings and weekends.
• Desired Expertise: We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in Law, IT, Commercial Business, or Social Enterprise.

About Swansea Carers Centre

Swansea Carers Centre is a vibrant, welcoming Tier 2 charity supporting unpaid carers across the City & County of Swansea. Every year, over 1,800 carers access our services, and more than 10,500 carers have registered with us since our founding. We provide welfare benefits advice, counselling, respite opportunities, dementia support, young adult carer projects, volunteer‑led initiatives, training, social groups and more. The services are all designed to ensure carers feel valued, connected and empowered. We also look to identify hidden carers and make certain that people looking after others can find the support they need.

An unpaid carer is anyone who provides support to a family member, friend or neighbour due to a variety of reasons which could include illness, disability, mental health needs, addiction, or age‑related frailty. Many people do not recognise themselves as carers yet they take on vital responsibilities that can have a profound impact on their wellbeing, finances and daily life. Our vision is a society where carers are recognised, respected and supported as equal partners in care. Our mission is to make a positive difference to carers’ lives by working in partnership with carers, statutory bodies and voluntary organisations.

The Role

The Chair will lead a committed Board of Trustees, ensuring Swansea Carers Centre is well-governed, financially sustainable and forward‑looking.

You will work closely with our CEO and Senior Management Team to embed strong governance practices, support strategic decision‑making, and champion a culture of empowerment across the organisation. This is a pivotal leadership role at a time when carers’ needs are growing, and the charity is strengthening its strategic direction.

We are particularly seeking a Chair who can:

• Embed modern, effective governance approaches
• Support the Board to focus on strategic leadership rather than operational detail
• Empower staff and volunteers to deliver high‑quality, carer‑led services
• Build strong partnerships with local authorities, health bodies, funders and community organisations
• Represent Swansea Carers Centre with confidence and credibility

Monthly Board meetings are held in person in Swansea, and we welcome applications from candidates based elsewhere who are willing to travel to attend.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Board to ensure balanced, inclusive and focused discussion
• Promote high standards of governance and regulatory compliance
• Provide strategic leadership and support effective decision‑making
• Build a strong, supportive working relationship with the CEO
• Ensure trustees receive timely, relevant information
• Champion carers’ interests and represent the charity externally
• Support succession planning and Board development
• Attend approximately 12 Board meetings per year, plus occasional sub‑committees and events

Hope and Vision Communities is a small charity providing supported, move-on accommodation for people who have successfully completed residential rehabilitation.  We have a Christian ethos, where everyone can be loved and accepted with a sense of belonging, with the hope and opportunity of a new life.  We are growing to expand who we can help to other geographical areas. 

We are seeking a volunteer to help our team with reconciling day to day accounts and bookkeeping, as well as some controlling and administration tasks depending on availability. Our ideal candidate would also be able to compute our annual accounts ready for review by an independent examiner.
