Dorothy House is seeking an exceptional and inspirational leader to join its Board of Trustees with the intention of becoming the charity's next Chair.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced board leader to help shape the future of hospice and end-of-life care, providing strategic leadership, strong governance and influential external advocacy for one of the region's leading hospices. We are looking for an individual with the vision, credibility and commitment to support Dorothy House through its next phase of development and ensure it continues to deliver outstanding care and support for people and families at some of the most important moments in their lives.

As a Trustee and prospective Chair, you will help lead the Board in setting the organisation's long-term direction, ensuring effective governance, financial sustainability and organisational resilience. About the Role (Unremunerated Volunteer Position)

• Significant board-level leadership experience as a Chair, Trustee, Non-Executive Director or equivalent.

Appointment Process While this recruitment process is being undertaken with the intention of identifying Dorothy House's next Chair, appointment as Chair cannot take place until the individual has first been appointed as a Trustee. Subject to the Board's decision and the provisions of the Articles of Association, appointment as Chair may take place immediately following appointment as a Trustee.

What we're looking for: A friendly face to welcome visitors and animals to our rescue centre in Whitminster, answering their questions, and directing them to the appropriate member of staff. You will also help make sure the Teckels shop is well stocked, clean and tidy, and looks its best.

This role is ideal for someone with excellent customer service and communication skills, able to deal with a wide range of people visiting in person or over the phone. An eye for detail is helpful for processing admin and making bookings.

Our rescue centre can get very busy, so it is important you are comfortable working in a fast paced environment and have the ability to multi task. You may be the first person someone meets at Teckels, so you will need to be polite, helpful, understanding and discreet, able to handle sensitive situations.

Read Easy provides free, confidential, one to-one reading coaching for adults who struggle with reading, through a network of volunteer groups. Read Easy groups are changing the lives of individual adults across the country by providing them with the support they need to learn to read, and in turn opening doors for them to all sorts of new opportunities in life. 

Outline of the Publicity Organiser role
You will be helping your local community understand what a Read Easy group does; how local people can get the reading support they need; and how volunteers can help. There are two distinct forms of publicity, one requiring raising awareness by giving talks, putting up posters and talking to people generally about Read Easy. The second is using social media effectively to raise awareness and publicise your group. This roleis commonly supported by other members of 
the team, with specific skills to offer.

How we will support you 
You will be provided with the Management Team Handbook, policies, training/induction and guidance specifically needed for this role, including access to support from a Read Easy UK Regional Adviser, via your Team Leader. You will also be invited to Read Easy UK’s regional and national forums which gives volunteers an opportunity for networking with those from other 
groups.

The Role

Christian Aid is seeking to appoint a new Finance Trustee to bring significant charity finance experience to the Board and strengthen its oversight of financial matters. This role can be remote, however if you are based in London or Liverpool we would love you to come along to an Outreach visit to experience first hand the great work that PINT does.

Our volunteer Social Media Manager will be responsible for helping PINT build its presence across all social media channels, creating engaging content that raises awareness of the charity’s work, encourages support and helps people understand the difference PINT makes in the community. This role will involve planning and posting content, helping to tell stories about PINT’s projects and impact, and working with other volunteers to make sure our social media activity is consistent, creative and aligned with wider marketing and communications activity.

We are looking for volunteers with experience managing social media channels, creating content and building engagement online. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who can write strong copy, create or source visual content, and understand how to tailor posts for different platforms and audiences. We are also looking for someone who is creative, organised and responsive, with the ability to collaborate with other volunteers to help share PINT’s story in a positive and consistent way.
