Learn Together CIC is looking for volunteer journalists to support Together Media, our media and public-interest storytelling project.

Volunteers may help research stories, prepare scripts, write articles, support interviews, fact-check information, and contribute ideas for content around news, politics, social issues, culture, and community stories.

This role is suitable for anyone interested in journalism, media, writing, research, public affairs, or digital storytelling. No professional experience is required, but strong communication, curiosity, reliability, and an interest in responsible reporting are important.

Our shops are a hive of activity and the heart of the local community. They raise funds to support our vital work and provide a place for local people to find out more about how we help older people in their area. Our volunteers always enjoy being part of our shop teams; chatting to our customers about the fabulous items we sell and telling them about the fantastic work that we do.

As a Customer Service Volunteer you will get the chance to meet new people and make friends, plus play a vital role in helping to raise funds to support local older people.

You will be working on the shop floor as the welcoming face of our charity. Serving customers with a smile, using the till (don't worry, we will show you how) and handling money and sales.

When people come in to donate items you will be thanking them for their support and helping them to complete Gift Aid signups on our Gift Aid system.

You will help to make our shops look amazing; putting out items that the sorting teams have prepared, helping with merchandising, labelling and ensuring the shop is clean and always looking its' best.

You will need to be ok using a touch screen device as our tills run on a tablet, though we will always provide full training and some time for you to get used to using this first.

Lastly, you may have people enquiring about our work, or asking for help and we will provide you with all the details of where to refer them to within the charity.

We currently need volunteers on Monday (1pm-4.30pm), Tuesday (1pm-4.30pm), Weds (9.30 am-1pm). No special skills are needed as we will show you what to do and will provide all the training you need.

The Role of the Academy Advisory Council

Each AAC is made up of dedicated individuals—parents, staff, and members of the local community—who work closely with academy leaders and Trust representatives.

You’ll meet with senior academy leaders, alongside Link Trustees and members of the Trust Executive Team, ensuring your insights directly inform decision-making.

What You’ll Do

As an Academy Advisor, you will:

• Act as a critical friend—supportive, encouraging, and constructively challenging
• Provide local insight to inform Trust decisions
• Support safeguarding understanding at academy level
• Build strong links between the academy and its community
• Review academy performance and discuss key priorities
• Help ensure Trust values and ethos are lived day-to-day

Unlike traditional governing bodies, you won’t be burdened with financial or staffing decisions. Instead, you’ll have the time and focus to look at what really matters—impact, experience and community voice.

What’s Expected of You

We understand this is a voluntary role, and we aim to make it meaningful and manageable:

• Three meetings per year, usually held after school
• Preparation by reading papers and contributing to discussions
• Occasional focused academy visits to understand life on the ground
• Completion of a simple annual skills audit
• Commitment to safeguarding training and DBS clearance

We’re looking for trustees

We’re looking to recruit dynamic, committed and motivated people with professional skills and experience who are as passionate as we are about empowering individuals to work through and beyond their experience of sexual abuse.

Specific qualifications are not necessarily required and we welcome applicants with lived experience. A genuine interest in learning about our charity and our services within the local community is essential.

These trustees will help to form a new board dedicated to supporting the charity and contributing to the effective and quality governance of Trust House. You will play an active role in developing the strategic direction of the charity and provide guidance to ensure the charity continues to support anyone affected by rape or sexual abuse in the Thames Valley area.

Dementia Activity Coordinator

What You’ll Do

Bring joy and stimulation to people living with dementia by planning and running creative, engaging activities at our day care centre, that encourage connection, laughter and participation. You’ll us your skills and imagination to lead sessions centred around an activity area of your choice such as music, movement, theatre, storytelling, arts, cooking or gardening.

You will:

· Plan and deliver fun and inclusive activity sessions for day centre members living with dementia

· Adapt activities to suit individual needs and abilities

· Encourage participation and build confidence among members

· Work alongside staff to ensure sessions run safely and smoothly

Skills You’ll Use or Develop

· Creativity and the ability to engage people

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Patience, empathy, and understanding of dementia

· Organisation and planning skills

· Confidence leading small group activities

Time Commitment

Flexible- ideally a regular session each week between 10:30 am and 3:00 pm (Weekdays)

Based at Fawcett Estate Community Hall in Clapton, Hackney, we run a Community Food Hub, alternative education, SEN support, and community programmes including Jumping Beans. We have supported over 100,000 families and are recognised nationally for our work.

We are looking for an empathic, friendly, enthusiastic and motivated female volunteer or volunteers to join our Ealing DVA team who offer tailored support to people escaping domestic abuse. In this role you will be supporting the Ealing team with their referral line services.

Volunteers will:

1. Provide effective telephone advice, information and support to women, men and children who are living with or fleeing domestic abuse

2. Advise women, men and professionals via telephone on options for staying safe and independent or to access refuge accommodation.

3. Provide effective telephone advice, information and support to other statutory and voluntary agencies who are seeking advice for their clients who may be experiencing or escaping domestic abuse

4. Cover the Referral and Information line volunteering between the hours of 10:00am - 4:00pm

5. Attend supervision sessions as and when required (face to face and or virtually)

Volunteering in the shop

We are so excited to have reopened the St Andrews Shop with a wonderful new look! 

Our St Andrews Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

• Are disqualified from being a company director.
• Have failed to make payments under the county court administrator’s orders.
