Community Volunteers can choose from a wide selection of activities – including fundraising, talks and demonstrations, supporting at events, volunteer welfare, social media and administration support.

Do you want to help the youth of today become the lifesavers of tomorrow? We're on a mission to teach young people across the country how to save lives. It's a chance for them to learn important first aid skills in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. 

St John is one of the largest youth organisations in the country and many of our young volunteers go onto careers in health and/or social care.

Being a youth volunteer helps young people develop skills and confidence that go on to help them with further education and university applications. To do this we need dedicated and enthusiastic youth helpers. Do you have 2 hours in an evening, once a week during school term times to join our fun loving youth team supporting and developing our young inspirational volunteers? No matter what your interests: Crafting, Singing/Dancing, History, Science or caring for people/animals, we welcome you to join us. 

Full training is provided. This is a great opportunity to develop your own skills, knowledge and build on your CV. All whilst having fun, making friends and supporting your community. 

Our Badger are children aged 5-10 years of age and the Cadets are 11 – 17

We’re looking for someone reliable and flexible, with strong communication and organisational skills and a natural flair for problem-solving. You’re comfortable adapting to changing priorities and happy to roll up your sleeves when needed. 

We’re a small team of six (mostly part-time). While we support one another with day-to-day IT issues, you’ll be the go-to person for things like: 

• Setting up new users and workstations 

• Troubleshooting issues (e.g. scanner or SharePoint connections) 

• Supporting the phone system 

• Advising on wider IT needs 

Recent projects have included supporting an office move and IT setup, working with The Royal Parks to deliver a new internet connection, rolling out two-tier security logins for staff and volunteers, and upgrading systems ahead of Windows 10 support ending. 

Skills and experience 

Formal qualifications aren’t required, but professional or personal IT experience will be very useful. We use Microsoft 365, so familiarity with this — and a willingness to learn the platforms and programmes we use — is essential. 

Experience or knowledge in the following areas would be particularly helpful: 

• Managing Microsoft 365 and Azure environments (user accounts, security, provisioning) 

• PC updates and IT troubleshooting 

• ISP dashboard management 

• Liaison with website developers

This vacancy is for across the West Midlands County, with volunteering opportunities across Birmingham, Solihull, and the Black Country.

Volunteers would be expected to commit 100 hours of volunteering a year in a clinical capacity. They will also be expected to keep in regular contact with their line manager and keep up to date with their training.

This role will require an in-person interview, which will take place provisionally in West Bromwich. Interview dates/times will be emailed to you should your application be successful. Once your screening for role has been completed, you will be invited to attend your local St John Ambulance Network for a Welcome and Induction.

• Undertaking shop related tasks agreed with the Manager, for example:

We're looking for volunteers to assist with the day to day running of our shops located across north east Essex. Volunteer vacancies are available in various shop locations.

Duties of the role include the following:

(Note - Not all the tasks apply to every shop and will be dependent on which shop; type of tasks required for that area and your level of experience)

• Customer service
• Operating till & cash handling
• Signing customers up to Gift Aid scheme & inputting gift aid data if required
• Preparing donated goods for sale
• Ensuring recyclable goods are put in appropriate place
• Pricing as outlined by the shop manager
• Display and merchandising (may include transferring items from one display to another)
• Stock control
• Sorting donated goods (this may include lifting or moving moderately heavy items such as sacks of donated clothes or boxes containing books in some areas)
• Light cleaning duties and using an iron or steamer to press donated clothes

For coffee shops only:

• Operating coffee machines, serving customers and clearing and wiping down tables
• Ensure good food hygiene, health and safety and fire regulations are adhered to at all times

Training & supervision

• All required training, including till operation, gift aid and health & safety will be provided.
• For coffee shops you will be required to undertake online food hygiene training courses.

Role Purpose

We are seeking Volunteer Schools Workers to accompany our lead Schools Worker in delivering workshops to children and young people. You’ll help create a safe, positive environment for learning, support classroom activities, and be an encouraging presence for students as they explore important topics around respect, relationships, and digital culture.

· Accompany the lead Schools Worker to sessions in primary and secondary schools.

RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch

Would you like to help our Events & fundraising team? We’re looking for a friendly, organised person who can give just a few hours a week to support our events team at the MK RSPCA.
