Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of sight loss and RNIB services at local events. You will give talks in person or virtually, sharing your own story to improve understanding of sight loss to local service providers and community groups. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to improve accessibility and inclusivity, creating a world without barriers.

What you’ll be doing:
• Giving talks to groups of people to raise awareness of sight loss in your local community by sharing your story to audiences, for example, local businesses, community and voluntary groups.
• Delivering Talks to raise awareness of RNIB services as a trusted source of support for blind and partially sighted people

• Representing RNIB as an Ambassador for the Community Connection service

Julian House is seeking a new trustee to join their board focusing on their retail offering

Time Commitment: Approximately 8 hours per month.

· Board Meetings: 4 per year, in person (Bath or Bristol), starting at 4pm and lasting 3.5 hours.

· Committee Involvement: Trustees must join one subcommittee, which meets 4 times a year online at 5:30pm for 2.5 hours.

· Annual Strategy Day: One full-day session for all board members.

The Julian House Board of Trustees is responsible for supporting and holding to account the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team.

They are looking for someone who can bring the following specialism to the board:

· Deep understanding of charity retail, most likely resulting from having held senior leadership retail positions in charities.

A trustee must:

· Fulfil the legal duties of the trustee role.

· Prepare for and attend all board meetings and relevant sub-committees.

· Ensure that everything they do helps to achieve the charity’s objects.

· Comply with the charity’s governing document and the law.

· Act in the charity’s best interests.

· Ensure the charity is compliant with statutory accounting and reporting requirements.

Previous Trustee board experience is not a requirement, the selected candidate will be assigned a ‘buddy’ on the Board, and we have an induction programme to welcome new trustees.

Men Who Talk is a UK registered charity, running weekly online peer-to-peer support groups for men aged 18+ across the UK. The groups take place between 7:00pm - 8:30pm every Wednesday and Sunday evening, and 14:00 - 15:30 every Saturday afternoon. 

Our groups are supportive spaces for men aged 18+ to come and talk openly about what's on their mind. All groups are free to attend and follow the evidence based model of peer support. 

Volunteers are required to be online from 6:45pm to 8:45pm on a Wednesday/Sunday evening, and from 13:45 - 15:45 on a Saturday, and are required to facilitate around 1 group per month. Volunteers are asked to commit to an a minimum of 6 months of volunteering in the initial stage. 

All groups are facilitated by a minimum of 2 facilitators, and follow a semi-structured pattern.

We are looking for passionate men with some experience of groups facilitating or working in mental health settings to come join us as facilitators. Experience in using online platforms such as zoom is essential. 

A degree in psychology is preferred but not an essential requirement.

You must have the right to live and work in the UK in order to join us, MWT is unable to sponsor any visa applications. Fluency in conversational English and a firm grasp of technology is also required.

We have a diverse team full of talented and passionate individuals who are committed to changing the face of mens mental health across the UK. 

As well as the opportunity to join the organisation at an exciting stage of it's development, volunteers also have the opportunity to develop their own skills and have regular chances to feed into the creative and strategic development of the organisation. We also provide enhanced safeguarding adults training, and the opportunity to develop key skills to enhance a career in mental health. In addition to training opportunities, MWT also provides weekly online group supervision with a specialist supervisior, free of charge for all volunteers. 

PLEASE NOTE: We are only able to accept applications from individuals who already have the right to live and work in the UK. 

Martlets, Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House have collection tins hosted by a wide variety of businesses across Worthing, Sussex, Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas. Our tins continue to play an important role in raising money and awareness for the hospices so that we can continue to provide specialist care.

These tins need to be collected, replaced, and returned to our fundraising offices or shops on a regular basis. With collections expected to be completed on a 6-8 week cycle.

We are looking for friendly, reliable people to help us with this important fundraising and community liaison role.

You will be the face of the Fundraising team in your locality, representing the hospices when collecting. This is a chance to involve yourself with the community by building a relationship with our collection tin hosts and keeping them up to date with any news from us.

This is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking for a flexible volunteering role to fit around other commitments. We can discuss potential rounds based on where you live and an appropriate distance to travel.

A person we support in one of our supported living services in Hanham is looking for a volunteer to join her for fun and sociable activities.

Can you help?

Activities could include crafting, baking, pottery, having a cuppa at a café, attending beauty appointments and going to the cinema. The individual is very independent and would love to meet someone with similar interests to help them access the community.

Ideally this would be a fortnightly volunteer role either on a weekday or the weekend during the day.

Travel expenses are covered for each volunteering shift and activity expenses will be discussed with the individual and the service.

For all our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and we will request two references. All volunteers will need to complete online volunteer training in preparation for your role. You will be supported by both the volunteer team and a designated member of staff in the service too.

Our volunteers provide a friendly face and that personal touch to brighten the days for the people they drive. Our drivers can become a regular part of someone’s life and for some their journeys together may be the only chance an RNIB customer has had to get out of their home for some time.

As a volunteer, you will meet a wide variety of people with unique backgrounds and personal stories to share. You will discover new talents and skills you didn’t even know you had. Most importantly, you will build lasting connections and make new friends who share your passion for helping others!

Volunteers help in many ways, from making drinks and providing much-needed one-to-one attention for clients, to supporting outings, maintaining our building, assisting carer groups, and running fundraising events or campaigns. Each volunteer’s contribution plays a crucial role in supporting our work.

You will join the Headway Black Country team and work alongside dedicated individuals who make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

We prefer volunteers to commit for at least six months, with a minimum of one half-day per week. This ensures you can make a meaningful and lasting impact while fitting the role into your schedule.

Our Community Volunteers will work alongside our County Representatives to support our Fundraising Team by being the public face of Combat Stress in their local county, and will help build support from individuals and groups by raising awareness and funds. Income generation is key to our continued success and the support of volunteers enables us to raise more funds to support former servicemen and women, so that when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to help them take on the future.
