We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Northern Projects reserve team on a dedicated learning and development programme to survey and monitor species such as great crested newts and white clawed crayfish.

This opportunity is for 6 months at 2 days per week

What will you be doing?

On this Voluntary Placement you will gain experience from survey and monitoring projects across the county. You will be based in YWT’s York office with field work predominantly carried out across North and West Yorkshire.  You will spend time with our project officers in undertaking activities on third party land, however there will also be the opportunity to shadow other members of the team to enhance your development. You could gain experience in the following areas:

• Species survey and monitoring as part of national and local schemes including environmental DNA (eDNA) and traditional methods
• Riparian ecology, restoration and monitoring
• Land management techniques to improve water quality
• Wetland habitat creation
• Undertaking practical tasks such as habitat creation and restoration
• Gain an understanding of budgets and project management tools
• Mapping, administrative and GIS work using QGIS and Survey123
• Helping to publicising project work via traditional communications, social media and engagement events
• Helping to set up survey work and events with volunteers and landowners
• Involvement in partnership projects and engaging with farmers, landowners and other stakeholders

THE ROLE — VOLUNTEER COMPANY/CHARITY SECRETARY

We’re looking for a Volunteer Company/Charity Secretary to help build the governance foundations that will keep SUNSHINE safe, transparent, and thriving as we grow.

This role can be shaped around you. You can join us as a Trustee and Company Secretary, taking a place on the Board, or you can contribute as a non‑trustee Company Secretary, supporting the Board while not being a voting member.

Either pathway is welcome — what matters most is your commitment to good governance, community spirit, and helping a new start-up charity grow with confidence.

As our Volunteer Company Secretary, you will:

• Support the Board to meet its legal and regulatory responsibilities.

• Ensure our governance is clear, organised, and accessible.

• Maintain statutory registers and support Charity Commission filings.

What will you be doing?

To support delivery of the E‑Save app, you’ll provide essential administrative support to our volunteer‑led, largely remote organisation. 

You’ll help keep the charity running smoothly by supporting the board and key personnel with communications, record‑keeping, document updates, online meeting organisation, task tracking and maintaining clear, well‑ordered systems.

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a UK‑based volunteer with at least three years’ administrative experience, including confident use of Microsoft tools. 

You’ll be organised, detail‑focused and able to manage your own workload. 

You’ll support meetings, maintain online files, update documents, manage data and contact lists, and provide general admin support to the Board, Operations Director and volunteer HR team as needed.

Charity Trustee

You and Me Counselling are currently recruiting volunteer trustees to complement the committee members already in their role.

This is a home working role and will be for immediate start.

Our charity

You and Me Counselling is a charitable organisation established in 2011. We are a counselling and psychotherapy service based in Hornchurch, Essex that works with children, young people, adults, and their families in the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, and Waltham Forest. Our counsellors and therapists work both within schools and from our counselling rooms located in Hornchurch and Ilford.

You and Me Counselling are an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). This means we are fully governed by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Job Description

As a trustee you will need to:

• Acknowledge emails at least once a day.
• Give a minimum of one hour per week to the role.
• Attend quarterly trustee meetings online.
• Ensure that You and Me Counselling pursues its stated objectives
• Ensure there is regular review of changes that might affect the organisation (political, financial, demographic, etc.)
• Ensure that the charity complies with charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
• Monitor finance to ensure that the charity applies its resources exclusively for its charitable objectives.

About ReMind UK

ReMind UK is an independent charity and an internationally renowned centre for research, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Our research aims to improve life for people with dementia and their families and carers, and to find drug and non-drug treatments for people with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and other diseases predominantly affecting older people. Our contracted NHS Memory Clinic service, paid for memory assessments, and allied activities also provide direct support to patients, families and carers. We are currently in an ambitious phase of development to increase significantly our clinical and academic research programme. We work closely with the Universities of Bath, Bristol and other research institutions, both nationally and internationally, and with the Royal United Hospital.

Role Title

Trustee (Board Member), ReMind UK

Time Commitment

We hold four full Board meetings per year, and an annual away day.

We currently have one subcommittee which is the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (FAC) that meets four times a year should be a part of it.

Board and Committee meetings are generally of 1-2 hours duration. Once a year there is a remuneration meeting, which is a short meeting held directly after the Board meeting.  

We engage between meetings via email on issues of relevance to either individual Board members or collectively where appropriate

Trustees are volunteers and may claim eligible expenses.

Role Purpose

Trustees are responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring good governance, and overseeing the charity’s management and administration.  The day-to-day running of the organisation is undertaken by the charity CEO and the senior leadership team.

Trustees must act in the charity’s best interests, ensure it is well‑run, and that resources are used effectively to achieve its charitable purposes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Governance

· Ensure the charity has clear priorities, future, and strategic direction.

· Oversee delivery of the charity’s mission to improve diagnosis, care, and research into age‑related disorders.

· Make well‑informed decisions that align with ReMind UK’s charitable objects and the interests of beneficiaries.

· Maintain high standards of governance and accountability.

2. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

· To ensure that the charity complies with its governing document, charity law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

· Act with reasonable care, skill, and diligence in all decision‑making and oversight.

· Manage and declare any conflicts of interest.

3. Financial Oversight

· Ensure the charity is financially sustainable, with adequate controls, appropriate budgeting, responsible use of funds and sound financial planning.

· Support and work with the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee where appropriate and engage in wider discussions around income and expenditure where necessary.

• Safeguard the charity’s assets and ensure funds are spent effectively.

4. Advocacy & Ambassadorship

· Act as an ambassador for ReMind UK’s work in dementia research, memory assessment, and post diagnosis support.

· Promote the importance of early assessment, treatment possibilities, and community‑based support.

· Support relationship‑building with stakeholders, partners, funders, and the wider community.

5. Organisational Support & Risk Management

· The Board have delegated the oversight of the Risk Register to the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (FAC), however it is also the responsibility of all trustees to identify and manage organisational risks and hold the FAC to account.

· Ensure effective planning and promote resilience across the charity.

· Support and constructively challenge the CEO and senior leadership team.

Essential:

· Commitment to the vision, mission and values of ReMind UK.

· Understanding of or willingness to learn about trustee responsibilities and charity governance.

· Strategic thinking and strong communication skills.

· Integrity, sound judgement, and independence of thought.

Desirable:

· Experience in health, dementia research, social care, charity finance, legal compliance, fundraising, or lived carer experience.

· Previous charity governance or leadership experience.

Eligibility Requirements

Certain individuals are legally disqualified from becoming charity trustees. Applicants must be 18+.

As part of our safeguarding commitment, trustees will be asked to complete an appropriate level of DBS check (Basic or Enhanced, subject to eligibility). We will support you through this process.

YES is seeking a Trustee with fundraising expertise to join our Board and support the
long-term sustainability and growth of our charity, which is dedicated to improving the
mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

As a Trustee, you will share collective responsibility for the charity’s governance,
strategic direction, and public benefit. As the Board’s lead Trustee for fundraising, you
will provide insight, oversight, and constructive challenge, drawing on your professional
fundraising experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Board’s lead Trustee for fundraising.
• Support the development and oversight of YES’s fundraising strategy.
• Provide guidance and challenge in relation to funding applications and income generation activity.
• Keep the Board informed of fundraising regulation, compliance, and best practice.
• Contribute a fundraising perspective to policy and strategic decision-making.

About You

You will bring relevant fundraising experience, strong communication skills, and a
commitment to good governance. You will be confident providing constructive

Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential.

About REMIX

REMIX is a start‑up, youth‑led social mobility charity transforming young lives across London. Based in Shoreditch, we empower young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to unlock their potential, build confidence, and develop essential life skills through nurturing mentorship, inspiring role models, and transformative opportunities.

We’re in the exciting early stages of building something bold, vibrant, and community‑powered — and we’re looking for a Treasurer who wants to help shape a movement from the ground up.

The Role

We are seeking a committed, detail‑driven, and values‑led Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and oversee REMIX’s financial governance during this crucial start‑up phase. As a young charity, we are building our financial systems, policies, and long‑term sustainability — and your expertise will be central to ensuring we grow with integrity, transparency, and confidence.

Time commitment: 4–8 hours per month, including:

• Bi‑monthly Board meetings

• Working groups and sub‑committees

• Treasurer duties, financial oversight, and preparation

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong foundations, thrives in early‑stage environments, and believes deeply in youth empowerment and social mobility.

Key Responsibilities

As Treasurer, you will:

• Oversee REMIX’s financial strategy, ensuring strong financial governance during our start‑up phase.

• Lead on budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring cashflow with the Board, Founder and CEO.

• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in line with charity regulations and best practice.

• Support the development of financial systems, controls, and policies as the charity grows.

• Present financial information clearly and accessibly to Trustees with varying levels of financial experience.

• Work with the Board to ensure REMIX remains financially sustainable and mission‑aligned.

• Contribute to risk management, reserves planning, and long‑term financial decision‑making.

• Uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.

You don’t need to have been a Treasurer before — we welcome people stepping into a governance role for the first time. What matters most is your financial confidence, your commitment to young people, and your ability to support a start‑up charity with clarity and care.

Experience in finance, accounting, charity finance, or organisational development is essential as we need someone to bring strong financial skills and experience.

REMIX

Project: New Member Onboarding Process Design 

Volunteer, Remote 

We are Bees Abroad, working to enable communities to empower themselves, through sustainable beekeeping. Together with local beekeeper trainers and organisations we educate, guide, and mentor communities in local best practices in Beekeeping, business creation, and protecting the environment. 

Whilst we are a small charity, we drive a lot of impact and have great ambition. We are currently going through a growth period and are looking for a HR or UX specialist to help us improve our Onboarding process for new volunteers. 

The individual will be working closely with our CEO and be responsible for designing and implementing a formal onboarding process for new Bees Abroad team members. 

You should be well organised, proactive, and work well both solo and within a small, remote team. 

Responsibilities: 

• Process Design: Research, evaluate and design a formal onboarding process for new volunteers. This will include interviewing new and older team members, as well as understanding our complete operating structure, tools and other processes that new members need to become familiar with. 

• Process Implementation: Implement tools that will help us deliver smooth and successful onboarding for new volunteers joining Bees Abroad. 

• Policy Implementation: Support with updating the tools used to implement our policies efficiently and in the most user-friendly manner. 

• Documentation: Collate any necessary documentation and manuals for use by Bees Abroad HR team in the future. 
   

Skills & Experience: 

• UX Design/HR Processes: Experience implementing User journeys and experiences, service design or HR Onboarding in other teams 

• Technical Skills: Experience using automation tools, Microsoft Suite and Notion. Experience using AI tools is welcome. 

• Collaboration: Excellent written, verbal and phone communication skills. Experience working in a team, with strong sense of autonomy and accountability towards team members.
