Position Overview:
The Programme Specialist is critical in supporting the delivery of a high-impact employability and skills development programme. Working under the guidance of the Programme Lead, this position focuses on coordinating projects, managing participant engagement, and ensuring the smooth execution of training initiatives, mentorship activities, and job placement efforts. The Programme Specialist directly empowers individuals to achieve workforce readiness and sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Coordination:

   • Assist in managing day-to-day activities of the programme, including onboarding, skills assessments, and skills development of participants.

   • Track progress against programme milestones (e.g., participant enrollment and completion rates) and flag delays to the Programme Lead.

2. Participant Support:

   • Serve as a primary point of contact for participants, addressing inquiries and providing guidance on programme resources, training modules, and job search tools.

   • Maintain accurate participant records, including attendance, skill assessments, and post-program outcomes.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Support the Programme Lead in building relationships with internal stakeholders.

4. Data Management & Reporting:

   • Collect and analyse data on participant progress, employment outcomes, and programme effectiveness using CRM systems or databases.

   • Prepare regular reports for the Programme Lead to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact to funders/stakeholders.

5. Logistics & Compliance:

   • Manage programme materials, including training resources, digital platforms, and participant handbooks.

   • Ensure compliance with programme guidelines, confidentiality policies, and grant reporting requirements.

1. Continuous Improvement:

   • Gather feedback from participants and partners to identify opportunities to enhance programme delivery.

   • Support the implementation of new tools or processes to improve efficiency and participant satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.

• Experience:

  • 1–3 years in programme coordination, workforce development, adult education, or a similar role.

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including youth, underserved communities, or career changers.

• Skills:

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Google products (Forms, Sheets, Docs, Slides) and familiarity with CRM tools.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging participants and stakeholders.

  • Basic data analysis and reporting capabilities.

As we already have expertise in pharmacy, this is not a requirement however one of the new trustees must have specialist expertise in charity finance.  This is a voluntary role, and you would be expected to attend formal board meetings (in person and online) four times a year – and annually for a full-day strategic review and planning session. Trustees serve for a term of up to three years with an option for appointment for a further two terms.

Principal Duties as a Board Member:

• Contribute actively to the Board, in giving firm strategic direction to the charity, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets

• Ensure that the charity complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations

• Ensure that the charity pursues its mission, as defined by the objects in its governing document and uses its resources exclusively for the delivery of that mission

• Ensure effective and efficient administration of the charity

 Person Specification:

• Demonstrable strategic leadership – with ability to focus on long-term direction and outcomes rather than operational detail

• Experience leading or advising organisations through growth, change, or uncertainty

• Experience within or exposure to sectors with particular sensitivities or complexities, e.g. healthcare, membership, safeguarding or equality-focused work.

• It would be desirable to bring expertise in any of the following areas: change management, marketing and communication, commercial success of a trading subsidiary, safeguarding, education, professional accreditation

• Knowledge of the wider healthcare environment and in particular patient voice would also be an advantage.

Survivor Service

Honorary therapists work within the Psychotherapy Service team to provide emotional and therapeutic support to young people and children with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced abuse or trauma. The post will entail jointly assessing and providing individual therapy and having weekly supervision with our therapists.

Requirements:

· Availability for in-person clinical work on Tuesdays

· Capacity to hold a caseload of up to 3 clients

· Attendance at online clinical supervision on Mondays, either 9.00-11.00am or 11.30am-1.30pm

· Attendance at in-person team meetings on the third Monday of each month (helpful but not mandatory)

· Currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a Level 4 or above counselling/psychotherapy course

· Student member of the BACP, UKCP, HCPC (or equivalent professional body) and adhere to ethical framework of awarding professional body

· Minimum of 50 supervised client hours completed

We are seeking a volunteer Head of HR to lead and oversee our HR function at a pivotal time in YouthAdvantage UK’s ambition to become a registered charity.

•Solid operational HR experience, ideally across generalist and specialist areas such as recruitment, employee relations/law, L&D, and policy.
•Previous line management experience, with a demonstrable record of supporting and developing HR team members or volunteers.
•A practical, sleeves-rolled-up approach - someone who is hands-on, accessible, and able to get things done in a busy, volunteer-led environment.
•A strategic mindset, but also the willingness to dig into day-to-day HR activity and problem-solving.
•A collaborative, coaching-ready attitude - this is a great opportunity for someone who has enough experience to stand on their own feet, but is open to being coached by the Chief People Officer to further develop their leadership style.
•Good communication and people skills, with the ability to work across different functions and with a wide range of volunteers.
•An interest in or understanding of the third sector and volunteer engagement is a bonus, but not essential.
•Experience working remotely or in hybrid teams is helpful.

About ReMind UK

ReMind UK is an independent charity and an internationally renowned centre for research, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Our research aims to improve life for people with dementia and their families and carers, and to find drug and non-drug treatments for people with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and other diseases predominantly affecting older people. Our contracted NHS Memory Clinic service, paid for memory assessments, and allied activities also provide direct support to patients, families and carers. We are currently in an ambitious phase of development to increase significantly our clinical and academic research programme. We work closely with the Universities of Bath, Bristol and other research institutions, both nationally and internationally, and with the Royal United Hospital.

Role Title

Trustee (Board Member), ReMind UK

Time Commitment

We hold four full Board meetings per year, and an annual away day.

We currently have one subcommittee which is the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (FAC) that meets four times a year should be a part of it.

Board and Committee meetings are generally of 1-2 hours duration. Once a year there is a remuneration meeting, which is a short meeting held directly after the Board meeting.  

We engage between meetings via email on issues of relevance to either individual Board members or collectively where appropriate

Trustees are volunteers and may claim eligible expenses.

Role Purpose

Trustees are responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring good governance, and overseeing the charity’s management and administration.  The day-to-day running of the organisation is undertaken by the charity CEO and the senior leadership team.

Trustees must act in the charity’s best interests, ensure it is well‑run, and that resources are used effectively to achieve its charitable purposes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Governance

· Ensure the charity has clear priorities, future, and strategic direction.

· Oversee delivery of the charity’s mission to improve diagnosis, care, and research into age‑related disorders.

· Make well‑informed decisions that align with ReMind UK’s charitable objects and the interests of beneficiaries.

· Maintain high standards of governance and accountability.

2. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

· To ensure that the charity complies with its governing document, charity law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

· Act with reasonable care, skill, and diligence in all decision‑making and oversight.

· Manage and declare any conflicts of interest.

3. Financial Oversight

· Ensure the charity is financially sustainable, with adequate controls, appropriate budgeting, responsible use of funds and sound financial planning.

· Support and work with the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee where appropriate and engage in wider discussions around income and expenditure where necessary.

• Safeguard the charity’s assets and ensure funds are spent effectively.

4. Advocacy & Ambassadorship

· Act as an ambassador for ReMind UK’s work in dementia research, memory assessment, and post diagnosis support.

· Promote the importance of early assessment, treatment possibilities, and community‑based support.

· Support relationship‑building with stakeholders, partners, funders, and the wider community.

5. Organisational Support & Risk Management

· The Board have delegated the oversight of the Risk Register to the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (FAC), however it is also the responsibility of all trustees to identify and manage organisational risks and hold the FAC to account.

· Ensure effective planning and promote resilience across the charity.

· Support and constructively challenge the CEO and senior leadership team.

Eligibility Requirements

Certain individuals are legally disqualified from becoming charity trustees. Applicants must be 18+.

As part of our safeguarding commitment, trustees will be asked to complete an appropriate level of DBS check (Basic or Enhanced, subject to eligibility). We will support you through this process.

London City Mission serves the church of London in sharing the love of God and the good news of Jesus Christ with the communities least likely to hear the Gospel.

One in three people don’t have a Christian friend to invite them to church, open a Bible with them, or tell them the good news of Jesus. We want to see that change. The poor areas of London are incredibly diverse, in fact London is the most ethnically diverse in the world, growing at over 100,000 people a year. The world has come to London – we long to see the Gospel taken to the world by working alongside churches to visit homes and go out into the streets of London with the good news of the Gospel.

Our monthly team gatherings are full of testimonies of how God is working amongst the communities least likely to hear the Gospel, and our deep conviction is that much more needs to be done – and can be done – at this urgent hour for London.

We are seeking to make up to five appointments; a mixture of Trustees (likely time commitment: 10-12 days a year) and Independent Sub-Committee Members (likely time commitment: 4 days a year). Individuals who bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Safeguarding – someone with safeguarding expertise who can provide strategic oversight, ensure robust policies and reporting procedures, and champion a culture of safety across the organisation.

HR - someone with HR expertise who can support organisational people practices, strengthen workforce policies, and provide strategic insight on recruitment, performance, and staff wellbeing.

Fundraising – someone with fundraising expertise who can guide income-generation strategy, strengthen donor relationships, and support LCM to diversify and grow its funding base.

Property – someone with professional property expertise who can advise on asset optimisation, and support strategic decisions regarding sales, leases, and maintenance.

Finance – most likely a qualified Accountant with strategic financial leadership skills and a passion to see resources deployed for Kingdom-purpose.

Through these roles the successful candidate will be able to make a difference in London for the salvation of souls and to the glory of God.

Purpose of the role

The Chair and Board will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the CIC, ensuring it operates effectively, legally, and in line with its community benefit purpose.

Statutory duties (as the Board)

• Promote and ensure good governance

• Review and support the strategic direction of the CIC, setting ambitious targets, evaluating performance and measuring achievements

• Ensure activities continue to meet the community interest test (by demonstrating that Northern Rascal’s activities are carried on for the benefit of the community and do not result in private profit)

• Make sure the CIC’s finances and property are protected and used only for community benefit

• Oversee financial management, budgets, and risk

• Ensure compliance with Company law; CIC regulations; Companies House filing requirements

• Approve and sign off the annual CIC report

• Appoint, support, and oversee senior staff 

• Act in the best interests of the CIC at all times

• Declare and manage conflicts of interest

Further responsibilities 

• Ensure the organisation adheres to the funding criteria for the grants received from Arts Council and other funders

• Promote a progressive understanding of and commitment to diversity in all forms

• Extend the company’s networks of contacts and open doors

• Support and contribute to the development of fundraising

• Review and approve internal policies, such as Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Finance.

• Support the Co-Directors with insights from your own experience and knowledge

Campaigns Lead (Volunteer, Remote)

We’re looking for a Campaigns Lead (Volunteer) to jointly lead our Campaigns team at now-u, helping to shape the content at the heart of our app and inspire people to get involved with causes that matter.

now-u is a non-profit organisation that aims to inform, inspire, and empower people to help tackle pressing social and environmental issues, in partnership with charities.

People can often feel overwhelmed by large-scale problems and powerless to help. At now-u, we believe that everyone has the power to drive change. We connect people who want to make a difference with impactful organisations and actions, enabling regular learning and meaningful action on key local and global issues.

By combining individual actions, the now-u community plays an important role in driving positive and lasting change.

About the role

As Campaigns Lead, you’ll work alongside another volunteer to lead the Campaigns team, which is responsible for curating all core campaign content on the now-u app. This includes learning materials, actions, and charity-led campaigns designed to inform people about social and environmental issues and encourage positive action.

You’ll have the opportunity to lead a small team of around three passionate Campaign Researchers, working in an agile and supportive environment. The role also involves contributing to wider organisational strategy and collaborating with other department leads.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys organising work, guiding others, and creating content with real-world impact.

What you’ll be doing

• Jointly leading the Campaigns team alongside another volunteer

• Running weekly sprint meetings and supporting an agile way of working

• Guiding the team in the regular curation of new campaign content

• Reviewing and quality-checking content before it is uploaded

• Supporting the content upload process

• Creating and maintaining a Campaigns calendar, including suggestions from charity partners

• Attending weekly meetings with department leads to discuss progress and strategy

Devon & Cornwall Refugee Support provides a walk-in centre in Plymouth offering needs-led, practical assistance to asylum seekers.

Our vision is to have a fair, humane and safe asylum experience for all. We are seeking a dynamic and committed Chair to lead our Board of Trustees and work in partnership with our Chief Executive to guide Devon and Cornwall Refugee Support through its next phase of development.

What will you be doing?

The Chair will provide inclusive leadership, ensure robust governance, and act as a passionate ambassador for our cause. You will be instrumental in shaping our strategy to meet the growing needs of asylum seekers in a challenging political landscape.

Location: Board meetings are held 8 times per year in Plymouth, with options for remote attendance. Some additional events and meetings may require travel.

Time Commitment: Approximately 3-4 days per month, including board meetings, preparation, and external representation. This is a voluntary, unremunerated role.
