Focus Group Volunteer - Neurodiversity 

EQOL is a new charity creating practical services to improve everyday quality of life for neurodivergent adults.

Before we launch, we want to listen.

We’re looking for neurodivergent adults aged 20–40 (diagnosed, self-identified, or questioning) to take part in small, online focus groups. These sessions will help shape services around work, life admin, energy, relationships, and navigating everyday systems.

What’s involved

• One online focus group (75–90 minutes)
• Small group (5–7 people)
• Camera optional, no pressure to speak
• This is not therapy or assessment

Who can take part

• Aged 20–40
• Neurodivergent (diagnosed or not)
• Based in the UK
• No preparation needed

Organisation: Manchester Young Lives
Locations: MYL Adventure Playgrounds (Wythenshawe, Moss Side, and Ardwick)
Time Commitment: Minimum one evening per week (3hrs)
Reporting to: Play and Youth Manager
Main contact: children, young people, staff/volunteers, parents/carers, partner agencies

We have several volunteering opportunities across our programmes.

• Play sessions: 4pm and 6pm (ages 6 to 13 years)
• Youth sessions: 6:30pm–8:30pm (ages 11 to 18 years
• Holiday playschemes: 12pm to 4pm (school holidays)

About the Charity

Manchester Young Lives is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 6–18years to develop confidence, wellbeing, and positive life skills. We provide safe, inclusive spaces where children and young people can play, learn, socialise, volunteer, grow and learn life skills through the power of play and youth work approaches.

Main purpose of the role

The Volunteer Play and Youth Worker will work both indoors and outdoors as a part of the team to support the delivery of play-based and youth activities for children and young people aged 6 to 18 years. Working alongside staff and other volunteers, the role helps create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment that promotes fun, learning, social and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and running of play and youth sessions to provide a varied, safe and stimulating environment in both indoor and outdoor settings.
• Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants
• Build positive, age-appropriate relationships with children and young people
• Encourage participation, teamwork, creativity, and positive behaviour
• Support children and young people with a wide range of needs, abilities, and backgrounds
• Assist with setting up, organising, and tidying activity spaces and equipment
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure sessions run smoothly
• Adhere to MYL policies and procedures in particular safeguarding, Health and safety, confidentiality, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Skills and Experience

 Essential

• A genuine interest in working with children and young people aged 6–18 years
• Friendly, reliable, and approachable
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Good communication and listening skills

Desirable

• Experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid)
• Understanding of play work, youth work, or community-based work
• Creative, sporting, or practical skills to support activities
• Basic awareness of safeguarding and child protection

Job description

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, fast learning intern to join our growing team at Human Appeal; helping us to research HR projects, review HR reports, and complete HR quality checks for our overseas offices, to identify the support needs, of our staff in the field, who are delivering the life saving projects on the ground and front lines.

Main tasks include:

• Providing generalist A-Z HR support which could range from recruitment, reward, onboarding and more. 
• Support HR L&D initiatives such as orientations, trainings, workshops etc.
• Ensure proper HR file documentation and file management to audit standards.
• Conducting HR quality checks via routine spot checks and maintain HR trackers.
• Compiling HR exec summaries or reports.
• Undertaking research projects and supporting HR project implementation when requested.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills required:

• Ideally studying towards or completed a Bachelors degree, preferably in HR, Psychology, 
• An interest in understanding of humanitarian relief
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English (Arabic, Somali, Turkish a bonus.)
• Basic IT Skills (Excel, Outlook, Office 365, One drive, TEAMs)
• Ability to work well in a diverse virtual team
• Problem solving skills - takes initiative and ownership 
• Cultural awareness and understanding of globalisation

Medaille Trust is one of the leading providers of support to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK. We are working to provide refuge and freedom for survivors and fighting to see slavery in all its forms become a thing of the past. The need for this work has never been higher, there are more than 50 million estimated victims of modern slavery worldwide, and over 120,000 potential victims in the UK.

We operate ten safe houses and five outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year.  We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators.

This role is based in the Hampshire area.

We are looking for Volunteers to help support us with coordinating and delivering activities, tasks will include:

•Organising and delivering activities for service user participation, which may include craft, arts, exercise/sport, education, wellbeing activities.

•Consulting service users to gain their feedback about what activities they would like to participate in.

•Helping to create a varied programme of activities.

•Offering a safe and comfortable experience for all service user, showing awareness of service users’ varying physical and mental well-being needs.

Volunteer Toddler Activities Assistant (Term Time)

About The Role

At WWT we shape unforgettable experiences; we want people to feel part of something amazing and this includes our youngest of visitors and the people they visit with.  We are therefore looking for keen and enthusiastic people to help run our weekly Wednesday term time toddler group: The Gosling Gang. You will enjoy working with other volunteers, families and young children; have good communication skills, an outgoing personality and an ability to think on your feet.

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You’ll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.
