ROLE TITLE: Brand Guardian (Visual Lead) – Men’s Mental Growth Movement
CATEGORY: Arts, Culture & Heritage / Marketing, PR & Media
CAUSES: Mental Health / Men
ROLE TYPE: Volunteer (Remote)
JOIN MINDSET:
Most men’s mental health branding is depressing. It’s all clinical blues, sad faces, and "waiting room" energy. We’re bining that. MINDSET is a new, action-first CIO that speaks the language men actually respond to: challenge, movement, and real-world connection.
We don’t want a charity brand. We want a movement identity.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Brand Guardian to join our "Engine Room". You will be the architect of our visual soul. Your mission is to create a brand that feels like a high-performance lifestyle label—think Nike, Patagonia, or Movember—but built for mental resilience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
We have a logo already but you will use that to;
- Build the "Mission Kit" (Social media templates, digital assets and physical flyers for our events).
- Ensure every pixel of MINDSET passes the "Pub Test"—if it looks like a doctor’s surgery, we start again.
WHO YOU ARE:
- A designer with a "gritty," active, or high-contrast aesthetic.
- Someone who believes that "action" is the best medicine for the mind.
- A volunteer who wants to see their work on the chests of men climbing mountains and hitting workshops across the UK.
COMMITMENT:
This is a volunteer role with no set hours. While we would ideally appreciate a committment of 2–3 hours per week, we are fully flexible around your other life commitments. You are free to stop volunteering at any time. This role is fully remote.
APPLY:
Send us a link to your portfolio and tell us why you want to kill the "sad man in a hoodie" trope.

Our Trustees and Central Officers ensure the charity runs smoothly across the UK, helping us “bring smiles to the faces of so many children.”
About The Role
The Recruitment Manager leads and oversees volunteer recruitment across all Make A Smile chapters. ● Working closely with the Safeguarding Officer to support DBS checks and ensure Recruitment Officers can run DBS clinics correctly.
● Maintaining and improving the Introduction Training slides and ensuring content remains high‑quality and up to date.

● Confidence in motivating and supporting volunteers.
● A proactive, solution‑focused mindset.
● Creativity in finding new recruitment opportunities.
● The ability to manage multiple chapters and keep track of progress.
● Professionalism, dedication, and alignment with Make A Smile’s ethos (“Act in the best interests of Make a Smile… Enjoy it!”).

Training and Support
You will receive:
● Full Trustee Training (online).
● A comprehensive handover and access to all systems (OneDrive, Simvoly, WhatsApp communities).

● The joy of helping new volunteers join a community that brings magic to children.

ROLE TITLE: The Storyteller (Content Lead) – Men’s Mental Growth Movement
CATEGORY: Marketing, PR & Media / Writing & Editorial
CAUSES: Mental Health / Men
ROLE TYPE: Volunteer (Remote)
JOIN MINDSET:
Most men’s mental health content is beige. It’s full of "it's okay to talk" platitudes that men have stopped hearing. We’re changing the script. MINDSET is a new, action-first CIO built around shared experiences, challenges, and real-world connection.
We don't want a "Content Creator." We want a Storyteller to turn our missions into a movement.
THE ROLE:
As our Storyteller, you are the voice of MINDSET. You’ll be responsible for taking the raw energy of our "Missions"—hikes, workshops, and challenges—and turning them into punchy, no-BS content that actually lands with men.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Draft our "Mission Manual" (The Tone of Voice guide).
- Write "The Hook, The Action, The Growth" copy for social media and our newsletter.
- Interview the men on our missions to share real stories of transformation without the clinical jargon.
- Ensure every word we publish passes the "Pub Test"—if it sounds like a doctor wrote it, we bin it.
WHO YOU ARE:
- A writer, journalist, or copywriter who knows how to grab attention in three seconds.
- Someone who can write with heart and humour, but zero fluff.
- A believer that "doing" is the best way to start "talking."
COMMITMENT:
This is a volunteer role with no set hours. While we would ideally appreciate a committment of 2–3 hours per week, we are fully flexible around your other life commitments. You are free to stop volunteering at any time. This role is fully remote.
APPLY:
Send us a link to your work (blog, portfolio, or even a killer LinkedIn post) and tell us why you’re ready to rebrand men’s growth.

CATEGORY: Marketing, PR & Media / Digital & Social Media
CAUSES: Mental Health / Men
ROLE TYPE: Volunteer (Remote)
JOIN MINDSET:
Algorithms don't care about "awareness," and neither do we. We care about action. MINDSET is a new, volunteer-powered CIO that’s binning the clinical "waiting room" approach to men’s mental health. We’re building a movement around shared challenges and real-world connection.
We don't need a "social media manager" to post quotes. We need a Digital Navigator to lead our growth.
THE ROLE:
As our Digital Navigato, you are the link between our vision and the men who need it. You’ll be responsible for our digital presence, managing our "Coming Soon" campaigns, and using data to make sure our "Missions" are seen by the right men at the right time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Deploy the "Coming Soon" campaign across X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Monitor engagement—using data to tell The Frontline (The Doers) what activities men actually want.
- Apply for and manage our Google Ad Grant (up to £7.5k/month in free ads).
- Grow the waitlist using simple, high-impact digital funnels.
WHO YOU ARE:
- A digital marketer or social lead who knows that "likes" don't equal "impact."
- Someone who understands how to target male-leaning audiences effectively.
- A volunteer who wants to use their technical "day job" skills to save lives.
COMMITMENT:
