From school bullying and family estrangement to inequality in the workplace, growing up LGBT+ is still unacceptably tough. We want every young person to have the opportunity to thrive and grow up knowing that being LGBT+ is something to be celebrated. 

Since our founding, Just Like Us has grown significantly in both scale and impact. Today, 4 in 5 secondary schools and thousands of primaries across the UK engage with our programmes, we have the UK’s largest cohort of LGBT+ volunteers aged 18 to 25, and our annual income exceeds £1 million. We have published landmark research reports that shape public opinion and influence government policy, and built a network of 14,000+ teachers who support LGBT+ inclusive education.

As we enter our next phase of development, we are seeking an exceptional Chair to lead our Board of Trustees and help guide the organisation through a period of continued growth, increasing organisational maturity and evolving opportunities.

This is an opportunity to provide strategic leadership to an ambitious national charity at an exciting point in its development. We are looking for a Chair who can lead our Board with confidence and sound judgement, support our Chief Executive through the next phase of organisational growth, and help ensure we remain financially resilient, well governed and firmly focused on our mission.

While the Chair will be an important ambassador for the charity, this is first and foremost a governance leadership role. We are looking for someone who understands how effective Boards operate; who can foster constructive challenge and collaboration, and who enjoys helping organisations and people realise their potential.

You may already be an experienced Chair, Trustee or Non-Executive Director, or you may bring substantial executive leadership experience and have worked closely with Boards throughout your career. We welcome candidates with good knowledge of charity governance, from across the charity, education, health, public, commercial and wider social impact sectors who can demonstrate strategic leadership and sound judgement.

We are particularly interested in individuals who have experience of supporting organisations through growth and increasing organisational complexity, who understand the importance of balancing ambition with sustainability, and who can act as a trusted partner to both the board and Chief Executive.

A strong external profile and established networks may be valuable in helping us build partnerships and extend our reach, however, we are equally interested in candidates whose strength lies in leading boards, navigating complexity and building high-performing governance.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to improving the lives of LGBT+ young people. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with lived experience as an LGBT+ person, recognising the valuable perspective this can bring to the role.

This is an unremunerated voluntary position, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. The expected commitment is approximately two per month, including board meetings, preparation, occasional committee meetings and representing the charity at key events.

Triple Skillz Charity is a Leicestershire-based organisation working with young people who are at real risk of entering the criminal justice system. We exist to intervene early — building confidence, developing skills, and helping young people move towards employment, education, and away from crime and criminal associations. We receive no statutory funding, which means our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

We are currently recruiting volunteer mentors for our Aspire Project.

About the role

As an Aspire Project Mentor, you will be matched with a young person and work alongside a co-mentor to provide consistent, supportive, and positive adult presence in their life — sometimes for the first time. You will meet with your mentee on a weekly basis for up to 2 hours, for a period of around 12 months, helping them to identify their goals and work towards them.

You will support your mentee with their confidence, self-esteem, and personal development; help them to think through choices around education, employment, and relationships; and be a reliable, steady presence they can turn to when facing difficult situations.

You do not need any specific qualifications or professional background. What matters most is that you are reliable, consistent, and genuinely committed to making a difference.

What we will provide

Full training and induction before you begin, covering mentoring skills, safeguarding, and health and safety. Ongoing support from your project co-ordinator throughout. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

Why it matters

The evidence is clear — having a consistent, supportive adult in a young person's life can have a profound impact. If we help keep just one young person out of custody, we save around £250,000 and, far more importantly, we help change the course of a life.

We’re looking for a creative Volunteer Causes & Impact Marketing Content Creator to help tell LoveBrum’s story, the stories of the causes we support and the impact we’re creating.

You’ll create content that that inspires people to get involved, demonstrate the impact of our work at LoveBrum, and helps more Birmingham causes get the support they deserve. 

Along the way, you’ll build real marketing experience, work alongside a passionate team, and play a key role in helping LoveBrum grow its reach and impact. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist in creating engaging content for our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.) 

• Support with capturing photograph and video content for LoveBrum Causes working alongside LoveBrum service patrons and charity manager 

• Design graphics using tools like Canva for campaigns and impact storytelling 

• Help schedule and manage posts using tools such as Buffer

• Attend campaign planning and brainstorming sessions to maximise impact and causes storytelling 

• Ensure all content is in line with the charity’s tone, brand, and mission 

Ideal Candidate 

• Demonstratable experience creating marketing content, with examples to show (personal channels, university projects or client work all count) 

• Self-sufficient in production: able to shoot, edit and publish photo and video content end to end without supervision 

• Confident in editing video in CapCut or similar, and designing graphics in Canva to a publishable standard 

• Able to translate case studies and beneficiaries' stories into content that resonates with donors 

• Good written and verbal communication skills 

• Familiar with scheduling tools such as Buffer 

• Organised, proactive, and able to manage their own workload 

• An eye for compelling storytelling and a genuine interest in charitable causes

We are busy team delivering the Supported Internships programme in Stafford (ST18). The programme is based around employment and leisure for young adults with learning disabilities between age 16 and 25. We help people to develop skills for work in a employment setting and build their confidence.

We prepare them for work, and help them improve their Maths and English skills in a classroom setting, as well as:

• Improving their confidence and communication skills
• Building on their social skills with each other and out in the community
• Keeping them inspired and engaged

What You will be doing:

• You will support staff in the classroom with activities
• You will support learners to improve their Maths and English skills
• You will engage with learners, to improve their confidence and independence
• You will encourage learners to try new things and gain new skills
• Out in the community you will support staff to keep learners motivated and engaged

As a volunteer you will help Mencap staff deliver the classroom sessions assisting young adults to improve their skills, and be a support in the community.

**The classroom sessions run from 9am - 4.30pm. Monday and Tuesday. We require a volunteer to be able to commit to one day per week or fortnightly for the academic year. **

About Circular Kitchens

Circular Kitchens is a social enterprise and membership platform designed to help restaurants, cafés, pubs, food stalls, and other catering businesses become fully circular: Plastic Free, Ecological, Local, and Zero Waste.

By working with the hospitality sector, we are helping regenerate local communities, strengthen regional food systems, and increase demand for ecological and regenerative agriculture in the UK. Our current focus is launching Circular Kitchens in Whitstable and supporting our first mover restaurants to achieve 3 Star Circular Kitchens certification. Based on learnings from this pilot, we are preparing to scale across the UK, growing our environmental and social impact.

Role Description

Circular Kitchens is seeking a volunteer to support our early-stage software platform development, with a focus on how we manage restaurant resources, pledges, and audits using Coda. We are already working with a highly-skilled volunteer who has developed a strong plan of action and who will serve as a project manager and mentor. 

This role will include working with tools such as Coda, Softr, and Mailchimp to set up automations, clean up data, and brainstorm on future platform improvements. This work supports the early foundations of a scalable platform designed to support hundreds of Circular Kitchens members over time. It is a chance to work with fantastic people, quickly see the impact of your contribution, and be a part of truly building sometihng from the ground up! 

An Ideal Candidate Will Be:

• Experienced in computer science, data science, or a related field

• Comfortable working with digital tools, databases, and information management platforms like Coda

• Excited to work on evolving, early-stage systems

• Well organised with a strong attention to detail

• Interested in digital systems, platforms, or operational design

Treasurer

Voluntary position (reasonable expenses reimbursed)

Time Commitment: Four Board meetings per year, held in person, and four online Finance and Risk Committee meetings. There will also be ad hoc engagement with the Finance Director and Chief Executive, and one annual team day.

Our client is one of the region’s leading homelessness and social inclusion charities, supporting around 6,000 people each year to build safe, independent lives. For more than 50 years, they have helped people facing homelessness, poverty, poor mental health and social exclusion by providing compassionate, person-centred support that drives lasting change.

Our client is looking for a finance professional to join the Board of Trustees as Treasurer and help shape the future of a charity making a real difference within the communities it serves.

As Treasurer, you’ll provide strategic financial oversight, chair the Finance and Risk Committee, and support confident decision-making with the Chair, trustees, Chief Executive and Finance Director.

Person specification:

• Financial leadership: A proven track record of providing strong financial leadership and working collaboratively with senior staff, including a Finance Director.
• Financial expertise: Strong knowledge of financial management and practice, ideally with experience in the charity sector and familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. the Charities Act).
• Governance understanding: A clear understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.
• Financial analysis: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess financial data, evaluate proposals, and understand their broader implications.

We are looking for a lively dynamic individual to promote the activities of Sussex Area Ramblers by regular communications with members and engaging with local media including producing press releases and responding to enquiries.

We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions.

We offer short term home visits, counselling sessions, practical & emotional one to one support, domestic violence groups, awareness raising workshops and drop in or chat groups to help women facing crisises or challenging situations.

Purpose

As a Volunteer Group Facilitator, you will play an important role in supporting group sessions and workshops. You will help create a welcoming, inclusive, and comfortable environment where everyone feels valued and able to participate.

Your responsibilities may include engaging with group members through conversation, welcoming participants as they arrive, and supporting the smooth running of sessions by helping with set-up and clear-up tasks. You may also assist with taking attendance at the start of each session.

Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role.
