About the role

We are looking for an experienced React Web Developer to join our small, friendly volunteer development team.

In this role, you will work closely with the team to continually improve the now-u website, helping to increase brand awareness, drive user engagement, and support our community of users, charities, and supporters.

You will participate in an agile development environment, taking responsibility across the entire development process from prototyping to deployment. This is a great opportunity to apply your technical skills to a meaningful project and contribute collaboratively to new ideas for our digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Build robust, reusable React components for future use.

• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.

• Build new features for the now-u website.

• Manage the entire development process from prototyping through to development and deployment as part of a team.

• Participate actively in an agile software development team.

• Work closely with Product Owners to understand software requirements.

About you

We are looking for a self-motivated developer with strong communication skills and the ability to seamlessly bridge big-picture thinking with detailed execution.

Essential skills

• At least 1 year of website development experience.

• Strong experience with React framework development.

• Self-motivated with great communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively within an agile team environment.

Desirable experience

• Has started or completed a website project with a public showcase or repository (e.g., GitHub).

Time commitment

5–6 hours per week

Length of commitment

This is a long-term voluntary role.
