Our vision is enabling university students to live God-centred lives, so we teach structured, engaging and transformative face-to-face foundational Islamic education to over 2000 students across the UK, Canada, USA and Ireland. 

We are currently recruiting 4 campus coordinators across the UK - to cover London, England, Wales and Scotland. 

Role Summary 

Campus coordinators are responsible for establishing partnerships with University Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) and Islamic Societies (ISocs), and maintaining positive relationships with these sites. 

Key tasks 

• Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with the MSA/ISoc committees and Student Ambassadors to ensure an exceptional onsite experience for students and promote retention of sites 

• Be responsible for overseeing all onsite logistics through liaison with the Student Ambassador to ensure that onsite logistics including advertising of the class and other required tasks are taken care of by the MSA/ISoc 

• Be the point of contact for ISocs: answer questions from the MSA/ ISoc committees and Student Ambassadors to the best of your ability and engage them on a 1-1 basis, listen to their needs and concerns and addressing these accordingly 

• Collect ideas and best-practices from how different MSAs/ISocs are delivering their class 

• Participate in onboarding current and new sites prior to the start of the academic year 

• Be the point of contact internally for any queries or updates related to assigned MSAs/ISocs 

What we’re looking for 

• An understanding of the Muslim university scene and how university MSAs/ISocs operate. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability and keenness to make and maintain genuine connections with people. 

• Ability to travel regionally for face-to-face meetings with MSA/ISoc committees, at least once per semester.

Do you want to help the youth of today become the lifesavers of tomorrow? We're on a mission to teach young people across the country how to save lives. It's a chance for them to learn important first aid skills in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. 

St John is one of the largest youth organisations in the country and many of our young volunteers go onto careers in health and/or social care.

Being a youth volunteer helps young people develop skills and confidence that go on to help them with further education and university applications. To do this we need dedicated and enthusiastic youth helpers. Do you have 2 hours in an evening, once a week during school term times to join our fun loving youth team supporting and developing our young inspirational volunteers? No matter what your interests: Crafting, Singing/Dancing, History, Science or caring for people/animals, we welcome you to join us. 

Full training is provided. This is a great opportunity to develop your own skills, knowledge and build on your CV. All whilst having fun, making friends and supporting your community. 

Our Badger are children aged 5-10 years of age and the Cadets are 11 – 17

The Role

As a Flyer Distributor you will play a crucial role in helping to raise awareness about our services and events within the Enfield community. You will be responsible for disseminating promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and event announcements to various locations within the Enfield area.

• Distribute promotional materials provided by Age UK Enfield to designated locations across the Enfield area. This may include community centers, libraries, local businesses, healthcare facilities, and other relevant locations.
• Engage with members of the public in a friendly and courteous manner while distributing flyers. Answer any questions they may have about Age UK Enfield's services and provide basic information about upcoming events or initiatives.
• Keep accurate records of the locations visited and the quantity of promotional materials distributed. Report back to the supervisor on to provide updates on distribution progress.
• Act as an ambassador for Age UK Enfield by promoting the organisation's mission, values, and services to the community. Help to increase brand recognition and visibility within the local area.

General Key Skills:

• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Comfortable with walking and standing for long periods in various weather conditions.
• Maintaining professionalism and addressing public inquiries effectively.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a strong sense of responsibility.

Time Commitment

Open Studio Mental Health Arts group

We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic Volunteer to support our Mental health art group ‘Open Studios’ for adults on Thursday afternoons.

Open Studios is a friendly space where people can paint, draw or create without pressure.

This is a workshop space to work on your own choice of art. It is not a taught session, but guidance is available from our artists. Aimed at those who are experiencing social isolation or who are working towards healthier mental wellbeing.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work closely with the Magic Carpet Artist practitioner/s to create a safe and welcoming space for group members to explore their creativity.

Tasks may include:

• Setting up tables and chairs ready for the group
• Making teas and coffee
• Getting out art materials and resources
• Supporting group members to decide what they might like to do
• Being ‘alongside’ group members (this may include spending time working on your own artwork)

We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys supporting people to improve their mental health and wellbeing
• Believes in art and creativity as a powerful tool for prompting wellbeing
• Is reliable, friendly, and comfortable working with people
• Cares about community, creativity, and inclusive arts
• Is willing to abide by ECIs code of conduct and safeguarding procedures.

Time commitment

• 2.5 hours per week (1.45pm – 2.15pm)

From designing educational resources and social media assets to crafting digital campaigns and event materials, your work will ensure our content reflects ihsan (excellence), clarity, and spiritual depth. You will help bring Islamic learning to life through purposeful, polished, and impactful design.

Key tasks

• Design Development: Create visually compelling graphics for use across social media, email, web, presentations, and print

• Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual materials align with Roots Academy’s brand guidelines and Islamic values

• Content Support: Collaborate with the social media and education teams to translate ideas and scripts into polished, engaging visuals

• Campaign Assets: Support event and program launches by designing posters, promo kits, and other visual collateral

• Template Creation: Build easy-to-edit templates for internal teams to use (e.g., Canva or Google Slides)

• Revision & Feedback: Adapt designs based on team feedback while maintaining efficiency and quality

• Trend Awareness: Stay up to date on design and content trends, especially within the faith-based and youth development space

Purpose of the Role:

To support the delivery of engaging and inclusive academic sessions for newly arrived migrant girls aged 11 19 at the Baytree Centre as part of the Arrive and Thrive programme. The role involves assisting teachers in creating a positive and supportive learning environment, helping students with subjects such as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Maths, and providing one-to-one support to those needing extra assistance. By offering guidance, encouragement, and structured support, the volunteer will contribute to the girls’ confidence, academic progress, and integration into formal education.

Main Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with teachers in delivering ESOL and Maths lessons.

- Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them overcome learning challenges and participate actively in lessons.

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and able to contribute.

- Encourage students’ academic progress while promoting motivation and engagement.

Skills and Qualities Required:

- Strong academic background, ideally with GCSE or degree-level education in Maths and/or English, enabling competent academic support.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and language levels.

- Patience and empathy to support students with varying learning paces and needs. - Enthusiasm for creating a supportive and engaging learning experience.

- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other volunteers.

aligned with Roots Academy’s mission and goals.

• Community Engagement: Build and nurture a vibrant online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and respectful manner.

• Content Calendar: Maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent posting schedule and to plan for special events, holidays, and campaigns.

To support the delivery of engaging and inclusive football sessions as part of the Baytree Centre’s GEMS programme, which offers after-school clubs for girls aged 5–18, you will work alongside a football coach to help create a safe and supportive environment where girls can develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy being active. You will escort the girls to an off-site football pitch where a professional coach will lead the session. 

Main Responsibilities:

- Escort the participants from Baytree to the offsite location.

- Support the football coach in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and personal development.

- Help maintain a supportive atmosphere where girls feel comfortable building confidence and working as a team.

- Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking.

- Adhere to Baytree Centre policies and safeguarding procedures. 

Skills and Qualities Required:

- Empathy and patience to work effectively with girls of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities. - Strong communication skills to engage positively with participants, other volunteers, and staff. - Creativity and enthusiasm for delivering fun, skills-based activities.

- Reliability and commitment to attend scheduled sessions consistently.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the coach.

Commitment:

- One session per week lasting one hour for a minimum of two terms.

Position Description 
This is an exciting time to join the Heart of the City trustee board. You will join a small but ambitious Charity with strong foundations and networks across the public and private sector. This is an opportunity to shape the next chapter for the Heart of the City, with a strong focus on developing a robust, sustainable three-year Strategy. The Strategy will be supported by work to further diversify funding streams, that provide greater financial resilience without compromising our mission to support SMEs to become responsible businesses and play a full role in responding to the Climate Emergency.

The incoming Chair will support the team to develop a three-year Strategy to support the growth of the Charity.

The plan will explore:

• The Mission of the Charity and how it should grow
• Diversifying and securing new sources of funding
• Broadening our programmatic offer to SMEs
• Defining the strategic relationship between Heart of the City and the City of London Corporation

Unlike most small charities, Heart of the City has an extensive network and governance structures with prestigious organisations. The Chair will help manage key relationships with the Bank of England and Corporation of London, as well as key Council Members. The Chair will be instrumental in managing an effective and focussed set of Trustees to help shape, scrutinise and deliver the Charity’s mission.

By the end of the three-year period as Chair, you will have supported the development and implementation of a Strategy, which meets the vision of the Charity, helped develop a sustainable and resilient funding model, ensured that the Charity is making an impact and reporting on its achievements and maintains effective relationships with key strategic partners.

Typically, the Chair will:

• Hold regular fortnightly meetings with the Managing Director.
• Attend quarterly Trustee Board meetings (usually lasting around two hours and held during the working day).
• Participate in a strategy half-day with Trustees and staff.
• Attend Council meetings (up to two per year).
• Support introductions to potential members, partners and stakeholders.
• Attend and occasionally speak at Heart of the City events on an ad hoc basis.

The Chair will contribute to ad-hoc requests including:

• Sharing their views on responsible business in interviews for our newsletter, social media or webinars
• Championing our work at other external events and meetings, on social media and on their own biographical profiles

About you

The Fundraising Lead for Roots Academy Canada will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to support the expansion of Roots Academy’s programs.

This role is critical in ensuring that Roots Academy has the financial resources needed to deliver high-quality Islamic education to communities around the world.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the mission of Roots Academy, skilled in engaging donors and securing funding through various channels, and able to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

• Develop and implement a dynamic fundraising plan that includes a variety of strategies tailored to Roots Academy’s target audiences, including university MSAs, mosques, and Islamic organisations.

• Identify and build partnerships with key community organisations, MSAs, and Islamic centres to create collaborative fundraising opportunities.

• Stay adaptable to emerging opportunities for funding, leveraging both traditional and innovative approaches to engage and attract potential donors.

Relationship Building:

• Actively engage with MSAs, Islamic centres, and community organisations to establish Roots Academy as a cause worth supporting and to cultivate long-term donor relationships.

• Collaborate with MSAs and community partners to organise local fundraising events, campaigns, and other initiatives that resonate with the community.

• Serve as a liaison between Roots Academy and these partner organisations to foster a spirit of collaboration and mutual support.

• Work closely with MSAs and community organisations to retain donors by creating meaningful engagement opportunities and maintaining a sense of involvement with Roots Academy’s mission.

Campaign Management:

• Lead and coordinate diverse fundraising campaigns, including online initiatives, MSA-driven campaigns, and in-person events like benefit dinners and community gatherings.

• Work with Roots Academy’s marketing team to create campaign materials and digital content, ensuring that each initiative is tailored to engage and inspire potential donors.

• Coordinate and oversee logistics for events, ensuring a smooth and impactful experience for all participants and maximising fundraising outcomes.

Tracking and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, donor interactions, and campaign outcomes to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Provide regular reports to the leadership team on fundraising efforts, adapting strategies as needed based on campaign performance and community feedback.

• Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of different fundraising approaches, enabling continuous improvement in future efforts.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies, particularly for nonprofit organisations, educational initiatives, or Islamic institutions.

• Community-Oriented: A deep understanding of the Muslim community in Canada, especially in relation to university students and local mosques.

• Relationship Building: Proven experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

• Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to support program delivery efficiently.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, from students to community leaders.

The Event Lead will lead the strategy, design, and execution of all events, ensuring they align with the organization’s goals and deliver memorable experiences. This role oversees the end-to-end event planning process, including budgeting, logistics, vendor management, and team coordination. As the driving force behind the organization’s events, the Event Lead will ensure high standards of creativity, efficiency, and impact while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Event Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with organizational goals and enhances brand visibility.

  • Identify event opportunities, including conferences, product launches, fundraisers, and internal engagements, to achieve strategic objectives.

• Event Design & Execution:

  • Lead the planning and execution of all events, ensuring seamless logistics, creative concepts, and high-quality delivery.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure event themes, messaging, and objectives are aligned with organizational priorities.

• Budget Management:

  • Manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Track expenses, negotiate vendor contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, venues, and partners to ensure successful event execution.

  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to meet quality standards and timelines.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the event planning team to achieve excellence in execution.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

• Event Marketing & Promotion:

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events, including developing promotional materials, social media campaigns, and press outreach.

  • Ensure a strong event presence across digital and physical platforms to maximize attendance and engagement.

• Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Measure event success through post-event reporting, feedback collection, and KPIs.

  • Use insights to refine event planning processes and improve future events.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Community-Oriented: A deep understanding of the Muslim community in Ontario, especially in relation to university students and local mosques.

• Relationship Building: Proven experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

• Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to support program delivery efficiently.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, from students to community leaders.

Purpose of the Role:

To support the delivery of engaging and inclusive English conversation sessions at the Baytree Centre, helping adult participants practise speaking English in a relaxed group setting. By offering encouragement, guidance, and a welcoming environment, the role empowers participants to improve their language skills, build confidence, and make meaningful social connections.

Main Responsibilities:

- Facilitate group discussions, encouraging participation and peer interaction.

- Provide one-to-one support to participants, helping with pronunciation, vocabulary, and conversational skills.

- Create a supportive and inclusive environment where participants feel comfortable practicing English and asking questions.

- Encourage connections and engagement between participants.

- Collect feedback to help improve future sessions.

- Adhere to Baytree Centre policies and safeguarding procedures.

Skills and Qualities Required:

- Fluency in English with the ability to model correct pronunciation and usage.

- Patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.

- Strong interpersonal skills to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

- Effective communication skills to give clear instructions and constructive feedback.

- Interest in language learning, community support, or adult education.

Commitment:

- Assist in weekly English conversation sessions, (day and time subject to the timetable).

- Minimum commitment of 2 terms for continuity and effectiveness.
