Volunteer Filmmaker / Documentary Maker / AI Story Creator / Content Creator
Help Us Tell the Story of the Lyonic Scots to the World
The Lyonic Scots Society is a Scottish heritage and cultural organisation dedicated to preserving and sharing our history, traditions, and creative spirit. In 2026, our community stepped proudly onto the global stage — and now we’re building a storytelling identity worthy of that legacy.
We’re looking for a creative volunteer filmmaker, documentary maker, AI storyteller, or digital content creator to help us bring our heritage to life through powerful visual and narrative media. If you love culture, storytelling, and creating content that resonates, this role is for you.
The Role
You’ll help shape how the world sees the Lyonic Scots — crafting films, short documentaries, AI‑generated stories, and digital content that captures our heritage, our people, and our journey. Your work will help us connect with audiences across Scotland and around the world.
What You’ll Do
Produce short films, mini‑documentaries, or interview‑based content about our heritage, traditions, and community.
Create AI‑generated short stories, visual narratives, or creative digital pieces inspired by Scottish culture.
Develop social media content — reels, shorts, story posts, and cinematic clips.
Capture or create footage from events, gatherings, and cultural activities.
Support the creation of campaign videos, heritage storytelling projects, and global outreach content.
Work with our communications team to ensure a consistent narrative and visual identity.
What We’re Looking For
Strong filmmaking, editing, or digital storytelling skills (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar).
Experience in documentary-style storytelling, short‑form content, or AI‑assisted creative production.
A flair for heritage, symbolism, and narrative-driven content.
Ability to work independently and interpret creative briefs.
Passion for Scottish culture, history, storytelling, or community development.
What You’ll Gain
A chance to build a global portfolio with meaningful, heritage‑driven creative projects.
Experience working with a growing international cultural organisation.
Recognition across our published materials, social media channels, campaigns, and events.
The opportunity to help shape a cultural legacy through film and storytelling.
Invitations to join us at events — seeing your work showcased and celebrated in real time.
How to Apply
Please send your portfolio, showreel, or examples of your creative work — along with a short note about your interest in Scottish heritage and storytelling — through the Charity Job site.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME LEAD (Inner London – Tower Hamlets Focus)
Volunteer Role – SUNSHINE Charity
Location: Hybrid — In‑person across Tower Hamlets & neighbouring boroughs + remote coordination from anywhere in London
Commitment: 3–4 hours per week (flexible, self‑managed across the week)
Salary: Voluntary (with substantial leadership experience, programme management exposure, and the chance to build a frontline community movement from the ground up)
The Spark: Why This Role Matters
Tower Hamlets is one of the most diverse, energetic, and culturally rich boroughs in London — yet it remains one of the most affected by chronic loneliness. Many adults aged 16+ experience daily isolation, especially in high‑density estates and fast‑moving urban environments.
SUNSHINE exists to flip that reality on its head.
We will run high‑vibrancy pop‑ups in parks, estates, markets, and high streets — neon t‑shirts, positive quote cards, upbeat music, bubble machines, and warm conversation — transforming public and unused spaces into pockets of connection.
To scale this joy revolution, we need a Volunteer Programme Lead who can build, nurture, and energise our frontline volunteer community both in person and remotely.
You will be the architect of our volunteer experience — the person who ensures every new volunteer feels welcomed, supported, and excited to step into the sunshine.
Your Mission: What You’ll Lead
As our Volunteer Programme Lead, you will sit within our HR & Community Engagement working group. You will shape the entire volunteer journey from first contact to first shift.
1. In‑Person Recruitment & Inductions (Tower Hamlets & Inner London)
Host friendly, informal induction meet‑ups in community centres, cafés, parks, or local hubs.
Represent SUNSHINE at local volunteer fairs, community events, and partner organisations.
Deliver short, energising introductions to our mission, culture, and frontline activities.
Spot great people — the warm, the kind, the enthusiastic — and invite them into the movement.
2. Remote Recruitment & Onboarding (London‑wide)
Review incoming applications from our Google Form and talent pipeline.
Conduct quick, warm WhatsApp introductions or voice‑note “vibe checks”.
Guide new volunteers through joining our private WhatsApp coordination groups.
Share access to Google Drive resources, induction packs, and shift information.
3. Volunteer Experience & Programme Management
Maintain a clear, organised volunteer roster for weekend pop‑ups.
Ensure every Sunshine Bench has the right mix of friendly faces.
Track volunteer engagement, attendance, and wellbeing.
Build a supportive, positive culture where volunteers feel valued and excited to return.
4. Community Building & Culture Shaping
Help design micro‑rituals that make SUNSHINE special (welcome messages, shout‑outs, mini challenges, etc.).
Encourage volunteers to grow into new roles — team leads, creative contributors, outreach champions.
Be the heartbeat of the volunteer community.
Who You Are (The Perfect Fit)
You don’t need corporate HR experience or a formal qualification. You need heart, organisation, and people‑magic.
You are:
A Natural Connector: Warm, encouraging, and able to make people feel instantly comfortable.
Organised & Reliable: You enjoy keeping things tidy — rosters, spreadsheets, chats, forms.
A Confident Communicator: Whether in person or via WhatsApp, you bring clarity and positivity.
Community‑Driven: You believe loneliness is a solvable problem and want to be part of the solution.
Energising: You bring a spark that makes volunteers feel excited to show up.
Why Lead With SUNSHINE?
Shape the Movement: You will build the founding volunteer culture of a new London charity.
Real Leadership Experience: Programme management, community building, recruitment, and team coordination — all high‑value CV capital.
