The RSPCA MILTON KEYNES & NORTH BUCKS Branch

We’re a small independent charity, run by passionate volunteers and supported by a dedicated team. Every year, we rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who deserve a second chance. But we can only do this because of the funds we raise locally through our charity shops, fundraising events, grants, and public donations. We’re now at a pivotal moment, transitioning to Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status, and we need strong leadership and fresh ideas to secure our future. We have two retail outlets, a growing online presence, and funds ready to invest in sustainable revenue streams. What we need is your business expertise and drive to make it happen.

We’re asking for

• Up to 6 hours per week (flexible).

Alongside the relevant experience, we are looking for someone who is committed to the RSPCA’s charitable objectives and shares our passion for animal welfare. You would be creative, innovative, bring a fresh perspective, and can put ideas into action.

What we can offer you as a volunteer Branch Trustee

• We will provide you with a comprehensive trustee training course which will provide you with everything you need to carry out the role.
• Ongoing support is also provided by local and national RSPCA staff in addition to any additional training provided by the relevant branch.

Practical considerations

• Please also note that to become a Trustee, you will need to be aged 18 or over and a member of our branch for three months before you are eligible to be elected.
• Trustees are elected for a 12-month term each year.
• Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
• Trustees must sign a Trustee Declaration of Willingness to Act to clarify that they are not disqualified from being a trustee and read the Charity Commission’s guidance for individuals on who cannot be a trustee or senior manager of a charity.
• References will also be required.

Fundraising Trustee (Milton Keynes)

Overview of the Fundraising Trustee opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person who could devote the time to volunteer with us as one of our Trustees. The RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch

The Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.

Primary responsibilities of the Fundraising Trustee

• Lead on developing and delivering fundraising strategies
• Help identify new income streams and build relationships with donors, sponsors, and community groups
• Support and advise the board on fundraising best practices
• Champion our cause and represent the branch at events and in the community
• Identify grant opportunities and apply for relevant funding streams via grants

The Volunteer Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser will support the organisation by researching, preparing, and submitting funding applications to charitable trusts and foundations. The role plays a vital part in securing sustainable income to support the organisation’s mission, services, and long-term development.

Key Responsibilities

• Research charitable trusts and foundations that align with the organisation’s aims

• Identify funding opportunities for core costs, projects, and emergency needs

• Assist in writing high-quality grant applications and letters of enquiry

• Gather required information, budgets, and supporting documents for applications

• Maintain accurate records of applications, deadlines, and outcomes

Donation Research Assistant (Volunteer)

International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) was founded in 2009 and aims to provide protection and improve the welfare of animals in need. Our first project is based in Borneo, where we provide a lifeline to thousands of dogs and cats every year in need of veterinary care and support. Our companion animal programmes have since developed in other countries, including Romania and Penang Island, as well as support programmes to help other species.

We are currently looking for Donation Research Volunteers to help support our Online Retail Team. This role will enable us to continue raising vital funds for our animals in need by helping to identify potential sources for donations of goods for our monthly online auctions and other fundraising platforms. 

Tasks will include:

• Researching suitable businesses to reach out to for potential donations.

• Develop relationships with donors, providing regular communication and support when needed. 

• Record and track donations received for our monthly online auctions.

• Collaborate with the team to identify best fundraising options. 

Ideally you will;

• Have experience or an interest in a research role, particularly within the charity sector.

• Be familiar with Google Workspace or willingness to learn.

• Have the ability to work independently and use your own initiative.

• Offer 1-3 hours per week (hours can be fully flexible)

Time expectation

Our volunteer fosterers usually spend around one and a half hours per day (around 10 to 13 hours per week) in this role, but this might vary depending on the number of cats or kittens in care.

Saving Strays is looking for a dynamic fundraising co-ordinator with experience in grass roots and event fundraising to help take our team of dedicated fundraising volunteers to the next level! The role will include initiating and implementing regional team leaders to run local fundraising events and recruit local people to support offline and online fundraising activities. You will liaise with our Head of Fundraising and help to inspire and grow the current team. Think Tank experience, great communication skills and a love of dogs is a must. Although the role is remote there will be opportunites at the charity's main fundraising concerts and events to work alongside the team members in person. We are a fun loving dedicated group of like minded people and we would love to welcome you to the team. 

Are you a TikTok wizard? Great at creating content from carousel posts to stories? Well our dogs need you to help build our exposure on Tik Tok, identify trends and ride the algorithims. The role will involve content creation every other day supporting our current Tik Tok volunteer who you will work closely with? We would love to welcome you to the team.

We are looking for a content creator to advance our reach and engagement on X was Twitter. The charity operates under a social media policy that will be shared with the successful candidate and all content will be required to fall within those ethical guidelines. The role will include content creation based around the activity of the charity and brainstorming ideas for new content and ways to extend reach of all posts. Come and join a friendly fun team creating content for our other platforms and help rescue and rehome dogs in need.

Do you have creative flair and a good understanding of trends and algorithims across Meta, Google, Twitter and Tik Tok? We are looking for a volunteer to help support an already existing team of content creators and advise and support them to achieve maximum engagement, exposure and following across the charity's social media platforms. The role will include monitoring any gaps in the dialy content in the event that scheduling fails, identifying trends and helping the charity maximise the level of interaction and engagement on their FaceBook Pages. Are you diligent and good with numbers? Would you like to help keep our dogs fed and cared for by supporting our volunteer accounts team? We are looking for a volunteer to support the weekly book keeping and reconciliation admin needed for our small all volunteer charity. Applicants will need to have a good understanding of the accounts software ZERO and a head for numbers. Weekly tasks will include reconcialiation across Paypal, JustGiving and other sources of income. The role also requires good writing and communication skills to undertake the Thank You letters to all donors. This is a remote role where you will work closely with the rest of the team via online meeting and message chats.  We ask you to write a covering letter and provide references if requested.We would love to welcome you to the Saving Strays Volunteer family.

ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is an animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations.  We also assist over 40 support groups helping abandoned animals in Ukraine.  Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population through six key focuses:  rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, rehoming and education.
