We are seeking a chair in waiting to join our board. If you have management or professional experience in the third, public or private sector, want to make a difference to people at risk of hunger or destitution, and share our values, we might have a role for you.
What will you be doing?
We are seeking someone with experience working at a senior level within the voluntary, public or private sectors and experience of being on a board of trustees i to succeed the current chair who is retiring from the role in 2026.
Our intention is that the person recruited spends some time shadowing the work of the chair and familiarising themselves with every aspect of the organisation before taking over the reins before the end of the calendar year.
What are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate would demonstrate:
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the work of foodbanks and tackling poverty.
- Senior management experience in the voluntary, public or private sectors, including the development, implementation and review of strategies/business plans.

We provide comfort, care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their loved ones.
Too many families in Wales are struggling through the fear, exhaustion and uncertainty that comes with caring for a child whose life will be short.
At the moment we only have enough money and resources to support 10% of the families who need us.
Through volunteering, you can help us to reach every family who needs us.
As a Till & Customer Service Volunteer at our Cowbridge shop, you will assist our shop managers by serving and greeting customers and keeping the shop organised.
Our Cowbridge shop is in a prime location in the middle of the town's high street, immediately next to an all too tempting deli and about a two minute walk from the town car park.
The shop boasts a large window in which deputy manager Gemma creates themed and highly creative window for which they shop has won many an award.
Tom and Gemma have been utilising eBay to sell highest quality donations with great success and have recently launched a shop Instagram page (search tyhafancowbridge).
Tom and Gemma are always on the lookout for quirky, rare, vintage and high-value donations, and our jewellery, bric-a-brac and antiques specialists are more than happy to appraise any stock that comes our way. Further to this, books and vinyl also sell very well at Cowbridge.
The shop is open 9am-4:45pm Monday-Sunday and we appreciate any time you can spare.
Our shops generate funds that directly support the whole family, from therapeutic services for children, to emotional and practical care for families, to sibling support activities & experiences.
Considerations:
Age requirement: 18+
Location: 29 High Street, Cowbridge CF71 7AE
Commitment: Ideally, we would be looking for your support for at least 2 hours a week.
Current available shifts: Monday PM, Thursday PM
As a volunteer, you could be involved in various activities, depending on your preferences, skills and experience, these include:
•Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all customers entering the shop;
•Delivering excellent customer service to ensure a pleasant shopping experience;
•Handling cash transactions and operating the till with accuracy;
• Encouraging customers to sign up for Gift Aid, which increases the value of their donations;
• Selling and processing our raffle/lottery tickets;
• Acting as an ambassador for Tŷ Hafan, promoting our Big Ambition within your local community.

About our Carmarthen Shop:
Our Carmarthen shop is located in a busy walkthrough shopping mall on the edge of Carmarthen town. The shop is well supported with donations and is historically our top performing Lottery shop.
The shop team are always on the lookout for new ways to generate income, including taking part in shopping centre and community events.
Considerations:
Age requirement: 16+
Location: Merlin's Walk, Carmarthen, SA31 3BN
Commitment:Our shops operate Monday-Saturday, 9am-4:45pm and we appreciate any time you can spare, but ideally at least 2 hours per week.
Shifts will be discussed during your informal chat.
Background checks: We will ask you to provide us with the details of two referees.
Activities include:

Volunteer Role
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team at the IHF Indonesia Center in
Bali. Volunteers will gain invaluable experience in international team leadership,
coordination of center activities, and engagement with the local community.

What We Offer

● Potential Employment: After one year of successfully completing the GLD
training, volunteers may be considered for employment positions within the

Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Glasgow South West Foodbank meets its core purpose by overseeing the management and administration of the charity and ensuring that the foodbank has a clear strategy in line with our vision and goals.
