Trustee Role: Clinical Lead for the Board.

Role Responsibilities

Safeline are recruiting a new trustee for the Safeline board who will have lead responsibility for supporting and assuring the clinical practices of the charity.  

Trustees work with the Executive team to provide effective governance to the Charity.

Who we are

Established in 1994, Safeline is a leading specialist charity that works to prevent sexual abuse and support those affected to cope and recover.

Our Vision is that everyone affected by or at risk of sexual abuse should feel supported and empowered.

We empower survivors to make choices about the lives they want.

What we do

We provide:

· Prevention/Early Intervention services to help prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation and effective early support to children and young people who are at risk.

· Counselling, Psychotherapy and Art Therapy to survivors of sexual abuse from age 4+, face-to-face, telephone and online

· Independent, non-judgmental emotional and practical support and advocacy to anyone who has experienced historical or recent sexual abuse and wishes to report to the police.

· National Male Survivors Helpline and online support service.

· Specialist education and training to prevent and address sexual abuse.

The Board

Our Board of Trustees are all volunteers drawn from a cross-section of different backgrounds. They are chosen for their skill sets to support Safeline and provide diversity of experience.

The Trustees are responsible for appointing the Chief Executive Officer and ensuring sound management of the professional, ethical, legal, and financial affairs of the Charity. Working in partnership with the executive team and staff, they:

• Set the direction.

• Agree the vision.

• Determine the strategies and policies to fulfil the vision.

• Monitor progress.

• Ensure the outcomes are consistent with the overall strategy.

§  The Board includes a former service user who ensures the people we support are represented in a clear and visible way. This Trustee involves the client’s voice in our work at a strategic level.

§  Trustees are appointed at the Annual General Meeting, they serve a four-year term and are eligible for re-election.

Key Responsibilities

• Governance & Oversight
  • Fulfil all legal duties of a Trustee under the Charities Act and the organisation’s governing document.
  • Ensure the counselling service operates in line with safeguarding, ethical, and clinical governance standards.
  • Provide strategic oversight of service delivery, ensuring quality and accessibility for beneficiaries.
• Support & Challenge
  • Act as a critical friend to the Head of Counselling/Clinical Lead, offering guidance and expertise.
  • Monitor and support the development of counselling provision, including policies, training, and professional standards.
  • Ensure that client feedback and outcomes inform service development.
• Risk & Compliance
  • Help the Board assess and manage risks associated with counselling practice, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., data protection, safeguarding, mental health regulations) and alignment with BACP professional framework.
• Advocacy & Ambassadorship
  • Champion the importance of counselling within the wider organisation and to external stakeholders.
  • Support fundraising and partnership opportunities that sustain and grow the counselling service

Essential Criteria for the Clinical Lead:

· Commitment to the charity’s mission and values.

· Understanding of counselling practice and its role in supporting wellbeing (e.g., qualified counsellor, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, or equivalent experience).

· Experience of working in a counselling environment and risk management.

· Knowledge of professional standards and frameworks (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC) and experience of ethical decision making.

· Practice in working with clients who have experienced sexual abuse.

· Ability to think strategically and contribute to Board-level discussion.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.

· Understanding of governance and willingness to undertake Trustee responsibilities.

Desirable:

· Experience in clinical governance, safeguarding, or service management.

· Prior Trustee or Board-level experience.

· Connections within the counselling, healthcare, or voluntary sector to support partnership development.

Time Commitment

Trustees are required to attend approximately 4 board meetings a year plus additional ad hoc meetings for example at team and fundraising events.

CoachBridge
We connect neurodivergent youth with affordable, AI-supported neuro-affirmative coaching and coach career pathways.

CoachBridge addresses rising inequalities in access to essential support for millions of neurodivergent youth who struggle with executive functions, often leading to dropout, underemployment, and poor mental health. Support is frequently unaffordable or inaccessible to those undiagnosed or marginalized. Simultaneously, newly trained coaches lack pathways to gain meaningful experience.

The solution is an AI-supported, accessible platform that connects neurodivergent youth with affordable, neuro-affirmative coaching. This practical support helps young people build motivation and life skills, bridging the gap for those excluded from clinical care. Concurrently, the platform serves as a career pathway for newly trained coaches, offering supervised experience, feedback, and certification support. Institutions partner with CoachBridge to fund access and track wellbeing outcomes. AI assists quietly with matching, reminders, and tracking, enhancing the human relationship. This inclusive, scalable model reduces inequalities and strengthens wellbeing across education and work.

Strategic Partnerships & Market Development (Higher Ed)

CoachBridge is preparing to launch a funded pilot of its inclusive coaching platform for neurodivergent students. We’re seeking a volunteer with experience in business development, partner outreach, or customer insight to help us identify and engage the right university stakeholders — while refining how we position the value of our solution.
This is a strategic, high-impact opportunity to shape our early go-to-market and partnership model in the education space, working closely with the founding team.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and map disability services, student wellbeing, and learning support departments across universities in the US, UK, EU, and Canada
• Identify key contacts and build a warm outreach list
• Draft and refine outreach messaging (we’ll co-create initial templates)
• Support 1:1 discovery outreach: short calls, emails, or surveys to:
  • Understand their current needs and gaps
  • Validate CoachBridge’s value proposition
  • Identify potential funding or pilot pathways
• Document key insights and objections to help us refine our offer and communications
• Recommend improvements to our pitch messaging for institutional buyers
• Help identify 5–10 strong-fit universities for early pilot partnership

Deliverables (over 3 months)

• Outreach list of 40–60 relevant universities
• 10–15 early conversations or contacts
• Summary of partner needs and funding models in 2–3 regions
• Updated outreach messaging and positioning notes
• 5–10 warm leads or expressions of interest for Q1 2026 pilot

Chatterbox Befrienders offer one-to-one telephone support and will call a client once a week offering companionship and a listening ear for an individual who might otherwise go unheard. Chatterbox volunteers befriend a variety of people including carers, socially isolated individuals who are struggling with loneliness, people with ill health and those that 
have been bereaved. 

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF:

REQUIREMENTS OF A BEFRIENDER INCLUDE:

- Calling your client once a week for a chat of up to 45 minutes; this is a 26 week initial commitment, at the end of which each client’s needs are reviewed

- Completing an online call log record promptly after each phone call

- Ensuring immediate contact with the Chatterbox Coordinators if you feel that the client might be a risk to themselves or others

- Liaising with the Chatterbox Coordinator on a regular basis regarding the service, as well as discussing personal learning and development needs

- Respecting service standards, appropriate boundaries and recognising the range of policies and procedures that impact on befriending vulnerable adults

We are seeking two new Trustees to help shape and strengthen our work. We are looking for individuals who can bring energy, enthusiasm and strategic insight to support our mission of protecting and restoring our waterways. 

Becoming a Trustee of the Cotswolds Rivers Trust is a strategic leadership commitment. The role typically includes attending quarterly board meetings in person and contributing a minimum of six hours per month for an initial three-year period.

As a Trustee, you will play a central part in decisions that influence the long-term health of our rivers. This is a rewarding opportunity to give back to the environment and local communities while broadening your own professional skills, networks and experience. The Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled volunteer grant writer to help us increase our capacity to apply for funding from trusts and foundations.

You’ll work closely with the Income Generation staff in our Income and Partnerships team to research potential funders, write compelling proposals, and help us build long-term relationships that sustain our impact.

Key responsibilities include:

• Researching new funding opportunities aligned with nurtureuk’s mission and programmes

• Writing persuasive, high-quality funding applications and accompanying documents

• Maintaining a pipeline of opportunities and tracking application progress

• Helping to build a library of core fundraising materials and case studies

• Utilising our bank of supporting evidence, data and testimonials to strengthen proposals
   

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you’re:

• An excellent writer who enjoys crafting persuasive and engaging text, ideally with previous experience of writing successful grant or funding applications

• Organised, proactive and detail-oriented

• Confident researching and interpreting funders’ criteria

• Able to work collaboratively and independently

• Familiarity with the UK charity funding landscape

We’re Willowbrook Farm Charity, a tiny, big-hearted team teaching sustainability, biodiversity, and ethical farming. The project (hand-drawn, brand-matched)

We need a talented Digital Artist who can hand-draw (on tablet or device of choice) and then deliver clean vector or high-res digital files. Your drawings must match the style of our main logo, so please take a quick look at our website first and see if that’s a style you’re happy to work in.

You’ll create

• Simple icons (e.g., education, biodiversity, volunteering, donations, accessibility).

• Farm-animal illustrations (goat, chicken, cow, bee, duck, etc.).

• Simple landscape elements (hedgerow/field/sun).

Files: SVG/AI (or layered PSD) + transparent PNG exports in agreed sizes.

Briefing

Whether conflict or climate-related, humanitarian crises zones face the same challenges: a deteriorating infrastructure and lack of access to food, safe water, healthcare, sanitation facilities and shelter. Before you travel, you will receive a full briefing on the humanitarian situation. We’ll cover information such as what to pack, itinerary and flight information, and provide mandatory safeguarding training to protect our beneficiaries. We’ll also answer any questions you may have.

Deployment

This once-in-a-lifetime experience allows you to spend time with the people we support and see, first-hand, the real, tangible difference that humanitarian aid delivery can make, and understand the challenges faced by those living in harsh conditions.

We are seeking a purpose-driven, experienced and visionary Chair of the Board of Trustees to lead Wildscreen into its next exciting chapter. The Chair will provide strategic leadership, governance, and support our small but mighty team to ensure the organisation continues to thrive and expand its influence within the international natural history media and environmental not for profit sectors. This role is crucial in guiding Wildscreen’s mission and vision, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring robust financial and operational health.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leadership and Governance: Lead the Board of Trustees in ensuring Wildscreen has a clear strategic direction and uses its resources to effectively deliver its charitable objectives. Ensuring the organisation complies with legal and regulatory requirements the Board operates effectively and with high governance standards. Providing leadership and support and appraising the performance of the Chief Executive Officer and where appropriate, other members of the Executive Team. Participating in and ensuring Board induction, training and effectiveness is undertaken and reviewed annually.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Board, Executive Team, and key stakeholders to develop and implement Wildscreen’ s strategic plan. Drive the organisation’s vision and objectives forward, ensuring alignment with its mission and values.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as an ambassador for Wildscreen, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, education and community groups, and sector bodies.
• Financial Oversight: Work with the Board and Executive Team to ensure the financial stability and sustainability of the organisation. Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and risk management processes.
• Fundraising and Development: Support and guide fundraising initiatives, including identifying new opportunities and cultivating relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding bodies.
• Community and Inclusivity: Promote Wildscreen’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Encourage programmes and initiatives that engage with diverse audiences and reflect the community’s needs.
• Performance and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the organisation against strategic goals and objectives. Ensure continuous improvement and responsiveness to changing needs in the international media landscape.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strategic Leadership: Demonstrable experience in a senior leadership or governance role within a complex organisation, preferably within the creative industries, environmental, purposedriven or not-for-profit sectors.
• Governance Expertise: Strong understanding of governance, with a track record of effectively chairing boards or committees and ensuring accountability and transparency.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including funders, partners, and community groups.
• Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management, with experience in overseeing budgets, financial planning, and risk management.
• Fundraising Capability: Experience in supporting fundraising activities, identifying funding opportunities, and engaging with donors and sponsors.
• Commitment to Diversity: A strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to champion these values across the organisation and its programmes.
• Passion for Nature and Storytelling: A genuine passion for the power of storytelling with an understanding of the essential role Wildscreen plays in convening important conversations, celebrating the world’s best natural world storytellers and enabling equitable access for all in the UK and internationally.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, influence, and engage with a wide range of audiences.
• Time and Commitment: The ability to commit sufficient time to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. We estimate a time commitment of 10 days per annum to account for quarterly board meetings, annual away day, monthly CEO support, events, subcommittee meetings (such as governance and finance committee) reading of Board papers and other organisational activities. Occasionally, trustees will be asked to join specific subcommittees or working groups with the wider team and externals where their area of expertise is particularly relevant.

Volunteer Lymphoedema Receptionist - Teesside Hospice

Department: Lymphoedema Clinic

Time Requirement:  Flexible to suit you (within office hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm)

Role Summary: To volunteer on our reception, greeting patients when they come in for their appointment and marking them as arrived.  Answering the telephone and taking messages, conducting and sending appointment reminders, and various other administration duties as detailed below.

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding of and ability to respect and maintain patient confidentiality
• Good telephone manner is essential as is the ability to deal with enquiries in a professional and calm manner
• Answer telephone calls taking/relaying messages to the secretary
• Support the Secretary and nursing team as directed
• Photocopying of documents / leaflets
• Filing of patients notes and documents
• Monitor stationary levels and top up as needed
• Making up new patient packs
• Printing freepost envelopes

Training Requirements:

As an administrator Volunteer you will complete the following training:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the lymphoedema Secretary to support you in your role.

Communications:

The Lymphoedema Secretary will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

Role Summary: Our Maintenance Volunteers play an important role in keeping the hospice and the shops operational, safe and looking professional, helping our teams to focus on looking after the patients and raising money to ensure we can continue to care for the people of Teesside when they need us most.

• A wide range of interior and exterior maintenance tasks
• Painting, carpentry and other DIY jobs around the centre
• Helping with any new projects
• Preparing the site for open days and other events

Personal qualities:

• To work alone or as part of a team
• Experience in a relevant trade is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
• Willingness to pitch in, help out, and get your hands dirty
• Some heavy lifting will be involved but full H&S training will be given
