Job description

Are you looking to gain administrative experience in a mental health/health and social care setting? Or maybe just looking to give some of your free time to aiding those in your community? If so our Birmingham Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub in Northfield is looking to take on a Volunteer Administrator.

The Birmingham Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub delivers support for individuals with severe and enduring mental health needs across our four locations; helping to provide support through one-on-one goal panning, personalised interventions, and community social groups; both online and in person. Our Northfield location is easily accessible through several bus routes, and is a 15 minute walk from Northfield trains station.

Your role as a Volunteer Administrator will see you working alongside our Recovery Navigators as a the first point of contact for individuals accessing our service; as well as taking charge of a range of administrative tasks to help the service run smoothly. Your main responsibilities will see you creating a welcoming and relaxed environment within the hub, listening non-judgmentally and providing sign posting to service users where appropriate, and taking telephone calls and responding to queries.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain administrative experience in a health and social/mental health setting whilst also giving back to your local community. We will provide relevant training and you will undergo regular supervision as part of your role.

All interested applicants will need to be available to volunteer for 3-5 hours a week.

All volunteers must have had their first Covid 19 vaccination prior to starting volunteering with us and be committed to having their second vaccination by 1st November 2021.
