Communications Coordinator
Opportunity of a flexible, hybrid role to show your flair and marketing skills to communicate environmental causes effectively across a range of media. Here is a chance to use your ability to coordinate content that helps us to convey our messages clearly, accurately and concisely with the public and with a range of institutions, local authorities, political bodies and other stakeholders, mainly across London.
Communications is central to who we are and what we do. We have a diverse range of campaigns and on-the-ground projects that help us with our mission to make London a well-planned, greener, climate resilient and nature rich city, which benefits everyone.
This aim of this role is to support our Director, colleagues and volunteers with internal and external comms, shape the team and the future communications strategy. Other duties may include email marketing, social media and oversight of the website.
Volunteering with us is a fantastic way to help us champion environmental issues such as the climate crisis, renewable energy, biodiversity and sustainable transport.
Our friendly team will provide you with training and support to develop in your role. You’ll gain valuable skills and experience in building media relationships, steering and creating marketing content and materials.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Duties may include but are not limited to:

Coordinating the messaging from campaign comms and social media volunteer team

Writing compelling copy which raises the profile of CPRE London and its work

Proofreading, restructuring and editing articles

Updating the CPRE London website with new content

Optimising published pieces for SEO

Working with the social media volunteer to promote new content

Working with the volunteer web developer, monitoring web traffic and user engagement

What are we looking for?
Key Skills & Experience
Preferably with 2 or more years’ experience of communications roles with excellent writing and editorial skills, good attention to details, and familiar with managing messages in the media.
· Experience of writing for publications and the web
· Great communication skills and an engaging style of writing
· Content editing and attention to detail
· An interest in environmental issues and enthusiasm for our aims
· Some experience of team management useful, but able to work independently and as part of a team

Working pattern
Hours: 7-14 hours per week
Pattern: hybrid delivery can be flexible but availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays (the Head of Campaign’s working days) would be beneficial.
