Fundraiser / bid writer
Use and develop your fundraising, research and bid-writing skills through this flexible, part-time opportunity to help CPRE London improve green space access for Londoners!
Join our team in this flexible, outcomes-focused role, where your knowledge and experience can support a wide range of charitable activities that essentially seek to protect, enhance and promote green space and its benefits to London and Londoners.
We have campaigns and projects relating to climate change mitigation, parks and green spaces, conservation and wildlife, tree planting, housing, transport, parking, clean rivers and the London Tree Ring with a focus on bid writing and grant applications.
About CPRE London
As part of the national network of CPRE, the Countryside Charity, CPRE London campaigns to save and promote green spaces in Greater London. Our vision is "a city with a network of green spaces which are accessible to all, rich in nature and playing a crucial role in responding to the climate emergency."
Reports to: CEO CPRE London and our Fundraising Volunteer Manager.
What will you be doing?
- Researching potential future sources of support including trusts and institutional funders
- Tailoring and submitting applications to grant providers
- Assisting with producing project progress reports with a level of detail suited to the funder
- Investigating other income streams, including digital fundraising, sponsored events (focused on promoting climate-friendly actions) and building more sustainable funding through regular donations
- Collaborate with our team to coordinate fundraising activities
What are we looking for?
Essential (E) or Desirable(D) Skills / Experience. Please provide examples or evidence where possible.
- Persuasive communication skills (E)
- Good interpersonal skills (E)
- Analytical research skills (E)
- Preferably 2+ years' experience of fundraising, bid writing (good descriptive writing skills), or marketing work (E)
- Educated to at least degree level (E)
- Understanding and appreciation of environmental issues (D)
- Proven ability to use layout and design software (D)
Time Commitment:
- c 7-14 hours/ week, hybrid working, flexibly deployed
- A minimum of 6 months' commitment is preferred
- There is an option to come to the office on Tuesdays or Thursday, although this is not essential if you would prefer to work from home.
