About the role:
We are looking for people to help lead some our teams across the organisation. We are volunteer led and manage 65+ volunteers across the country, most of them remoately. There are 10 different teams ranging from creative to business development. We are looking for up to 10 people to help with the coordination of feedback, delegation of tasks and assisting with running monthly meetings. We have a very diverse team of volunteers from all different culture, religons and disabilities.

Our Campaigns and Storytelling Volunteers play a key role in how Doncaster Mind communicates its work, shares impact and connects people with support.

What is the purpose of this role?
To assist the Project Coordinator in delivering engaging Scam Awareness events within communities across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire.
What impact does this role have?
Our Scam Awareness Events provide vital information and support to older people, helping them recognise scams, protect themselves from fraud, and access support when needed.
By volunteering at these events, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with people who have been affected by scams or may be vulnerable to them. Your support could make a real difference, helping people feel informed, confident and better protected.
What activities might you be involved in?
Ø Assist the Project Coordinator with setting up and packing away information stands and resources at Scam Awareness events.
Ø Welcome and engage with attendees, helping to create a friendly and inclusive environment.
Ø Support attendees with digital aspects of sessions, including helping them to use their own devices where appropriate.
Ø Assist in ensuring that information and resources used at events are accurate, up to date and relevant to the target audience.
Ø Help raise awareness of scams and fraud, including sharing information about new and emerging scam trends.
Ø Support the Project Coordinator at events by assisting at information stands, distributing leaflets and promotional materials, recording attendee queries for follow-up, and collecting contact details for scam referrals where appropriate.
Ø Assist with collecting and collating attendee feedback and evaluation forms following events and sessions.
Ø Carry out the volunteer role in line with the Charity's policies and procedures, and adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct.

When would you be needed to volunteer?

We are looking for volunteers who can provide regular, ongoing support alongside the Project Coordinator. If there is more than one volunteer in post, opportunities may be shared on a rota basis, allowing volunteers to support events on alternate weeks.

As part of the Government led Communities for Afghans programme, we are looking to recruit individuals or groups (UK BASED ONLY) to make up a team of 6 volunteers to support an Afghan family - you could be friends, neighbours, colleagues, faith groups, veterans, or community organisations are welcome.
We are currently focused on supporting families across Wales, West Midlands and Scotland but be keen to support elsewhere geographically where possible. With this in mind, you may live in these areas, but we are also delighted to bring volunteers together remotely to support a family.
You will be at the heart of this programme. It is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference!
The Communities for Afghans programme is a community-led Government initiative supporting families as they rebuild their lives in the UK. It is a Government-approved scheme that enables local people to welcome Afghan refugee families into their community. Volunteers will be supported by us to find housing for a family, provide practical and emotional support enabling them to settle into daily life and feel a genuine sense of belonging in the community.

Are you a proactive, collaborative and compassionate individual with proven experience of working positively with adults to engage successfully despite ‘challenging’ behaviour?Do you have the ability to be a positive role model, demonstrating the virtues of engaging with treatment support services?
If so, St Giles is looking for a Lived Experience Peer Volunteer to join our team and provide interventions and build meaningful, peer-led relationships with service users to encourage them to engage in drug and alcohol treatment following arrest.

About this key role
As a Peer Volunteer, you will increase client engagement with drug and alcohol treatment services by providing vital peer-led support and building trust and motivation among a client group that has been historically disengaged/not offered support previously.You will provide holistic, short-term intervention to bridge the gap between referral and full treatment engagement, capture client experiences and barriers to improve service design and accessibility and develop a strong service user voice to inform future service improvements.
Areas of support from Peer Volunteers may also include initial engagement and motivation such as welcome calls, check-ins, peer-led conversations and motivational chats over coffee.You may also offer practical support such as appointment reminders, transport assistance and paperwork support, plus help to build positive routines such as activity-based engagement and supporting small lifestyle changes, including meal planning, budgeting, and time management.
