Commitment: Voluntary (Approx. 2/3 hrs/week)

About Filling Good

Filling Good is a community-led sustainable retail community benefit society on a mission to reduce waste, promote ethical consumption, and support local, eco-conscious producers. Based in Maidenhead, we are passionate about empowering our members and customers to live more sustainably. As a co-operative, we are owned and governed by our members and guided by values of fairness, transparency, and social impact.

The Role

We are seeking a new Company Secretary to ensure that the Board receives support and the advice necessary for them to discharge their duties in the interests of its members. 

Key Responsibilities

• Being familiar with the Rules of the Co-operative and being able to advise the Board on its content and compliance with it.

• At regular intervals monitor and review legislative, regulators and governance developments that may affect the co-operative and relay this to the Board as and when required. 

• Understand the values of Filling Good and how they are and can be integrated into the governance of the organisation. 

• Send members a reminder of their expiring membership one month and then one week before the expiry

• Organize the annual AGM, send invitations in due date, make sure that the rules are respected during the AGM (votes, quorum, etc…)

• Take the minutes of the AGM (annual) 

• Owner of the To Do List and the agenda of the board
