As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Pró-Onça Institute empowers Cerrado communities to restore critical habitats, monitor biodiversity, and promote sustainable human-wildlife coexistence.

The Brazilian Cerrado, one of the world's most biodiverse savannas, is vanishing at an alarming rate due to large-scale agriculture. This habitat loss fragments the landscape, isolating large carnivores like jaguars and driving them into dangerous conflicts with local farmers. Furthermore, the rural communities living closest to these ecosystems—particularly women and youth—are often excluded from conservation leadership and lack the resources to protect their land against the intensifying threats of drought and wildfires.

Pró-Onça Institute addresses these crises through a locally driven model that transforms communities into active conservation partners across four integrated pillars. We train rural women and youth in high-tech biodiversity monitoring—using camera traps and GPS to track wildlife and reduce predator conflicts—while establishing community nurseries to restore native vegetation corridors that reconnect fragmented habitats. Through flagship initiatives like "Jaguar Women for Climate & Conservation," we provide the leadership training and employment needed for local women to head restoration efforts, all while using professional storytelling and art to amplify community voices and foster global engagement. By blending ecological science with social empowerment, we create resilient landscapes where both jaguars and people can thrive together.

​The role: Impact Finance & Fundraising Strategist

This role is ideal for someone interested in impact investment, climate and biodiversity finance, or strategic partnerships for mission-driven organizations. You will work directly with the founder of Pró-Onça Institute to help design and implement a funding and partnership strategy that allows our conservation initiatives to scale.

This goes beyond advisory support. We are looking for someone who is willing to actively collaborate with us in building relationships with potential supporters and partners.

Responsibilities include:

• helping design a clear funding and partnership strategy for the organisation
• identifying potential donors, foundations, corporate partners, and impact investors aligned with biodiversity and climate initiatives
• advising on how to approach and communicate with potential funders
• supporting outreach and introductions to relevant partners when possible
• helping refine our pitch and value proposition for potential supporters
• advising on negotiation and partnership conversations

Our goal is to build long-term partnerships that allow community-led conservation initiatives to grow and reach more landscapes and communities.

Obuyisi bw’Omu Initiative empowers underserved communities in Uganda—particularly women, youth, and children—through grassroots action, advocacy, and partnerships. It addresses key challenges including limited mental health support, poor water and sanitation, barriers to quality education, and the impacts of climate change. Programs create safe spaces for mental health awareness, improve clean water access and hygiene, and provide educational resources and mentorship to promote inclusive learning. Climate action efforts involve tree planting, conservation, and sustainable practices. By fostering community ownership and engaging volunteers, Obuyisi bw’Omu drives practical, sustainable solutions that enhance well-being and resilience for lasting positive change.

As a Fundraising Specialist you will be in charge of the following tasks :

Fundraising Strategy Development:
· Collaborate with the team to understand our core programs, budget needs, and funding gaps.
· Research and help develop a comprehensive fundraising plan that identifies the most promising income streams (grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, online campaigns).

Grant Research & Writing:
· Proactively research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, trusts, and bilateral/multilateral agencies whose priorities align with our mission in mental health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), climate action, and girls' education in Uganda.
· Draft compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept notes, working with the team to gather necessary data and impact stories.
· Help manage a grants calendar to track deadlines and reporting requirements.

Individual Giving & Crowdfunding:
· Support the development and launch of online crowdfunding campaigns.
· Help brainstorm and implement creative ways to engage and grow a base of individual monthly donors.
· Assist in drafting compelling fundraising appeals (e.g., for email newsletters, social media) in collaboration with the Communications and Digital Marketing volunteers.

Partnership Development:
· Research and help build a pipeline of potential corporate partners, foundations, and philanthropic networks.
· Assist in drafting sponsorship packages and partnership proposals that offer clear value to potential supporters.

Donor Communication & Stewardship:
· Help create materials to thank and update donors on the impact of their contributions (e.g., impact reports, thank-you emails).
· Support efforts to create and maintain strong, long-term relationships with funders.

Curans provides an AI-powered virtual patient simulator that enables medical students to master clinical reasoning, examination, and diagnosis in a safe, scalable environment.

Many medical students graduate with insufficient hands-on experience in clinical reasoning and patient communication. Traditional training involving real or simulated patients is often prohibitively expensive, time-restricted, and unavailable in low-resource settings. This gap forces students to rely on rote memorization rather than structured clinical thinking, leading to inconsistent feedback, increased patient safety risks, and systemic inequality in medical education quality (SDG 4).

Curans addresses this educational gap with an AI virtual patient simulation platform that allows learners to practice the entire clinical workflow—from taking history and performing virtual exams to ordering labs and planning management—within a risk-free digital space. The platform provides instant, data-driven feedback on clinical reasoning and communication, helping students refine their skills before they ever step into a real clinic. Designed to be scalable and accessible for both pre-clinical and clinical stages, Curans also equips instructors with tools to create custom cases and conduct OSCE-style assessments, ensuring that high-quality medical training is available to every future healthcare professional, regardless of their location or resources.

About the role 

At Curans, we are providing a safe environment for medical students and early-career doctors to practice with virtual patients before they ever touch a real one.

We are looking for someone who believes in this mission and wants to help us grow. 

In this role, you will help us move our fundraising forward. You will research investors, angel investors, venture capital firms, accelerators, grants, and funding opportunities that match Curans. You will help us build strong investor lists, improve outreach, and focus on the opportunities that give us the best chance to grow.

Your work will directly support our next stage of growth. 

What you will do 

You will:

• Research relevant investors, VCs, angel investors, grants, and accelerator opportunities
• Build and update clear investor and funding pipelines
• Fill in funding applications and help us submit strong, clear, and well organized answers
• Review and improve investor materials
• Help us refine our messaging, traction story, and fundraising narrative
• Track follow ups and keep the fundraising process organized
• Help us prepare for the next steps in our fundraising round

It is a big plus if you have experience in startups, venture capital, grants, accelerators, fundraising, or investor outreach.

Why this role matters 

You will help Curans reach the right people at the right time. Your work will help us find funding, improve our applications, and move closer to closing our round. This support will help us grow faster and reach more medical students and doctors who need a better way to practice safely. This is not just research work. This is work that can help improve medical training and support safer patient care in the future.

What will you be doing?

Candela is a volunteer-run nonprofit. We're growing our funding base in 2026, and this role is about making that happen. Working alongside our directors, you will have the opportunity to:

Sponsorship and funding:

• Identify and approach potential sponsors, starting with companies whose values or sector align with our mission: we teach physics through VR experiences including solar energy and fusion, so there's a natural fit with energy, renewables, and sustainability companies
• Research and apply for relevant grants, particularly in education, STEM access, and social impact
• Help develop and refine our sponsorship packages and pitches for different audiences
• Develop and manage a funding pipeline

Partnerships and relationships:

• Develop relationships with companies who could support us through funding, equipment donations, or employee volunteering
• Explore partnerships with organisations in the energy and sustainability sector who may have CSR budgets or outreach programmes aligned with what we do
• Help us build credibility and visibility with potential supporters

Note: As we're a small team, you'll have real ownership over this area. You can shape the approach based on your own experience and networks.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in fundraising, business development, partnerships, sponsorship, or grant writing - whether professional or through voluntary/community work
• Confidence approaching organisations and building relationships, particularly at a corporate or institutional level
• Strong written communication since you'll be drafting proposals, emails, and applications
• Someone who can commit roughly 3–7 hours per week, with flexibility around your schedule
• Passion for education, equity in STEM, or making technology accessible to young people

Nice to have: a background in energy, renewables, or sustainability, but this isn't essential. What matters most is your ability to build relationships and secure support.

Summary

Hawkwood is a dynamic charity working at the intersection of creativity, education and the environment - an organisation that does everything from hosting residencies for the UK’s most significant cultural organisations, to curating future thinking courses and events, to hosting the much-loved community farm on site.  We have a big vision with exciting plans for the future and we’re looking for Trustees to join a solid board with an ambitious strategy.  We are looking for up to three Trustees who have particular expertise in arts and culture, and/or education, and/or sustainability, as well as marketing and fundraising. We are also looking for a collaborative style to ensure a supportive Board culture.

 This is a voluntary role. As a Trustee, you will share Hawkwood’s commitment to education, the environment, and the arts. You will provide Hawkwood with leadership and ensure it is governed appropriately. You will need to develop a good understanding of all we do in order to support the charity. The role of a Trustee at Hawkwood requires a commitment of time and engagement with the activities of Hawkwood.

 Job Requirements

Being a Trustee requires a commitment of time for both formal and informal engagements. You will be required to attend 4 quarterly board meetings at Hawkwood each year. The Trustees may also take on additional advocacy roles relevant to their specific skills or knowledge area which will require additional commitment outside of the meeting cycle. Prior trustee experience is not required.

 As a Trustee you will need to ensure that Hawkwood is carrying out its purpose for public benefit. You will ensure that in all interactions you act in Hawkwood’s best interests and that Hawkwood’s resources are managed responsibly.

Why Should You Become a Trustee?

Being a Trustee is a valuable and rewarding experience. You’ll get to make a lasting difference to the lives of our students, and influence how the Union is run. You will use your skills, knowledge, and experience to support the Board in reaching sound decisions. You will be involved in leading discussions, making collective decisions, and identifying key issues. You’ll have the opportunity to mentor and support our President and Student Trustees. As a Lay Trustee, you are eligible to become Deputy Chair of the Board, or Chair of one of the sub-committees. This is dependent on vacancies for these roles.

You will receive comprehensive induction training, and further training relevant to your role as a Chair or member of a sub-committee.

Job Description

We’re looking for someone to work collectively with our Board of Trustees to provide support and strategic direction to our Students’ Union.

Remuneration: Lay Trustees are voluntary, unpaid roles. However, all reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed, such as travel costs to board meetings.

Hours: Hours can vary however typically each year:

· Four Board of Trustees meetings – each meeting is around three hours long conducted online.

· Additional four (eight for Finance) sub-committees meetings conducted online – each meeting is around 1 hour.

· There are usually one or two in-person events per year including a Board of Trustees meeting – each event is usually a day and/or an evening event. These are delivered in Cornwall (expenses paid).

Term of office: three years, up to three terms.

Location: Homebased with one or two in-person events in Cornwall per year.

Role Purpose:

The Trustees are ultimately responsible, individually and collectively, for all activity within the SU. The Board is legally responsible for our staff, finances, risk management and reputation. The Board is responsible for setting the vision and values of the organisation and for ensuring the delivery of organisational purpose. The Trustees ensure development of and agree a long-term strategy, approving and monitoring delivery plans.

We are currently in the second year of our five-year strategy, and the recent appointment of our new Chief Executive, Dr Sue Griffiths, who joins us on 2 March, marks a significant moment for the organisation. Sue and the Board will work closely to ensure that The Young Foundation continues to deliver against its core purpose: building a just society in which everyone can participate and all contributions are valued.

At The Young Foundation, we know that inequality diminishes lives, corrodes community wellbeing, and reduces prosperity for society. Our mission is to create the conditions in which people and communities can flourish. Working in partnership with the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, as well as public and private sector organisations, we empower people to fulfil their potential and lead happier, more meaningful lives. Ultimately, our work seeks to unlock shared prosperity.

Very little about the future of society is inevitable. Bound by our shared humanity, we believe that we collectively hold the power to shape our communities and institutions. Drawing on over 60 years of research, innovation and incubation, we put proven tools and approaches into practice to drive meaningful and lasting change.

As an influential and pioneering organisation in our field, we are seeking new Trustees to help us build the strongest non-executive team possible. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates from across the UK who can offer depth of insight, experience or influence in one or more of the following areas:

· Social innovation and community action

· Local or combined authorities

· Health

· Business and social entrepreneurship

· Higher education

· Political networks

· Finance (an accountancy qualification would be an asset)

· External affairs and influencing, including opinion formers

Our Trustees bring the full breadth of their professional expertise and lived experience into the Boardroom. While we have identified priority areas within our skills matrix, we are committed to building a genuinely diverse and inclusive Board. We welcome candidates who can bring varied perspectives and lived experiences, enabling us to make decisions informed by a complete and authentic picture of life across the UK.

MINDSET isn’t a traditional charity. We’re a start‑up movement reshaping men’s mental wellbeing across England and Wales — ditching the waiting rooms, the stigma, and the “one‑size‑fits‑all” approach. We’re building something new, something bold, and something that actually works for the communities we serve.

Now we’re looking for a volunteer Trustee to join our current board who want to help shape that future.

We are especially and particularly keen to welcome people from a range of diverse backgrounds, including people from BAME communities, women as well as men and women from the LGBT+ community, to ensure our Board truly reflects the communities of England and Wales.

The Role: Trustee

As a Trustee, you’ll sit at the heart of MINDSET’s mission. You’ll help guide our strategy, strengthen our governance, and ensure we deliver real, measurable impact for men across the country.

This is a volunteer leadership role for someone who cares deeply about mental wellbeing, social change, and building something meaningful from the ground up.

Help define the strategic direction of a start‑up charity determined to transform men’s mental fitness and personal growth.

2. Strengthen the Foundations

Ensure we operate with integrity, transparency, and strong governance as we grow from an idea into a national movement.

3. Champion Inclusion

Bring your lived experience, your community insight, and your voice to a Board committed to representing the full diversity of England and Wales.

4. Drive Impact

Support the development of innovative services, campaigns, and partnerships that challenge stigma and create real change.

5. Hold the Mission True

Make sure everything we do is high‑quality, ethical, sustainable, and aligned with our values.
