Treasurer vacancy at the Gender and Development Network

The Gender and Development Network (GADN) brings together expert NGOs, as well as consultants, academics and individuals committed to working on women’s and girls’ rights, gender equality, racial justice and international development. Our vision is of a world where social justice and gender equality prevail and where all women and girls can realise their rights free from discrimination. Our goal is to ensure that international development policy and practice promotes gender equality and women's and girls’ rights. Our role is to support our members by sharing information and expertise, to undertake and disseminate research, and to provide expert advice and comment on UK government policies and projects.

At this critical time for the international development sector, GADN is recruiting for a new Treasurer to serve on its Board of Trustees. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the financial governance and future direction of our dynamic network. Together with the Co-Chairs, the Treasurer is one of the Officers of the Board, a role which you can hold for a maximum of two 2-year terms. Trustees may serve a maximum of two 3-year terms.

As we continue working to decolonise our practice and build an anti-racist organisation, we actively welcome applications from Black women and Women of Colour who we recognise are under-represented in decision-making spaces in the UK international development sector.

On this occasion, the Board is seeking to appoint a Treasurer who has experience or understanding of:

  • Maintaining oversight of the organisation’s financial affairs on behalf of the Board of Trustees.
  • Providing guidance to the Board of Trustees and Secretariat on financial stewardship of the organisation in line with the strategic aims.
  • Supporting the Co-Directors in facilitating discussions on financial planning with the Board
  • Providing support to the Secretariat in carrying out the financial management of the network

You will also need to be prepared to devote 3 days per quarter to this exciting role.

For further information and details on how to apply please visit our website. The closing date is Sunday 10 August with interviews held on 2 and 3 September. Please let us know in your email if you are not available on those dates.
