Job description

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering our overall marketing and communications strategy to raise awareness of the charity, promote our services, and support fundraising efforts. This role will cover all aspects of marketing including social media, branding, website content, and promotional campaigns for recruitment, events and funding opportunities.

The Marketing Manager will create compelling content, manage both digital and offline channels, and ensure consistent messaging and branding across the organisation. This role is vital in helping Headroom to reach new audiences, strengthen our profile and relationship with our communities, and achieve our long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy aligned with the charity’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage and grow the charity’s online presence across social media, website and digital platforms.
  • Create, curate and publish engaging content (written, visual, and video) tailored to different audiences.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all materials, including fundraising, recruitment, and promotional campaigns.
  • Support the creation of marketing materials for events, services, funding applications, and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate with fundraising, operations, and service delivery teams to ensure integrated and coordinated messaging.
  • Actively contribute to the Leadership team to review and improve charity operations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, communications or related roles, preferably within a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles across different channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
  • Creative flair with the ability to design engaging content and promotional materials.
  • Passion for the charity’s mission and values.
