Job description
Are you fluent in Arabic and would like the chance to teach others? As part of our ‘Be You’ Project, we are supporting women who have suffered from Domestic Abuse to discover their passions and interests and helping them to work towards and achieve these goals, free from fear! We are looking for a volunteer who would like to teach our service user Arabic! This role will be a mixture of face-to-face and online sessions and would be led by you to manage and arrange with the service user. If you are qualified to teach others, we would love to hear from you!
What you will be doing
- To support someone over a video call and face-to-face to help them to learn Arabic
- Agree a mutual agreeable time and frequency that works for both parties
- Engage in conversation, allowing the person to feel supported and comfortable to practice their Arabic
- To keep records of the sessions and update the support worker on progress of sessions
The skills you need
- Interest in supporting someone in learning Arabic. Desirable to hold a qualification
- Good communication skills
- Ability to provide a supportive and inclusive atmosphere
