We ask for a few hours each week to visit people in their own homes or to keep in touch by phone, email, video, text or WhatsApp

By becoming an Association Visitor and donating your time, energy and skills, you can make a real difference to the lives of people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. 

The MND Association was founded in 1979. Our mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers. We also fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. The Association also campaigns and raises awareness so the needs of people with MND, and everyone who cares for them, are recognised, and addressed by wider society.

We are recruiting volunteers to coordinate and facilitate fitness and general wellbeing sessions online!

What you will be doing

• Design session plans which will enable group members to increase fitness and their general well-being
• Able to recognise the needs of beginners and mixed age/ability groups
• Ensure that everyone taking part has completed a health and wellbeing form, which includes referring those with existing health issues to their GP
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team

The skills you need

• A skilled and qualified Fitness Instructor
• Good communication skills
• Ability to provide a supportive, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and participation
• Calm and patient approach
• Willing to participate in supervision and to liaise with Hestia staff as required

Our partner is a highly respected professional membership organisation and charity working to shape fair and effective immigration and asylum law, supporting over 1,000 legal professionals and advocate for justice and human rights.

They are seeking a qualified accountant with strong financial oversight experience, with some charity sector experience, to serve as Treasurer. The post holder will have solid experience in financial management and governance, with the ability to communicate financial matters clearly, as well as a strong interest in social justice.

The Treasurer will monitor the organisation’s financial health, guide long-term planning, chair a funding decision panel, and ensure robust financial controls are in place. They will review budgets, management accounts, and annual reports, and act as a signatory for major transactions.

The Board meets eight times a year (for approximately 2 hours), and the funding panel meets six times annually. Most meetings are held online, with occasional in-person meetings in London. The total estimated time commitment required for the role is 1-3 hours per month.

 We create sensory activities, challenges and games featuring our bespoke disabled characters and take them to a variety of events and other organisations. And this is where you come in! We need volunteers to do lots of different jobs from big too small. Whether it's preparing activities, setting up, speaking to people or helping pack up, there's plenty to do.

At The Birth Partner Project, our vision is that no-one should face birth alone. We provide volunteer birthing partners, particularly to people seeking sanctuary, across Cardiff.

Our transport volunteers provide vital assistance to our teams and volunteer groups in the local area by transporting equipment, litter, food – and even cats! They have the essential role of connecting our network of volunteers, sites, vets and supporters.
