About Us:
Prospect Burma (PB) is a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, CIO number 1167686. For 35 years, it has worked to widen access to international higher education for Myanmar’s youth, supporting pathways to international study and funding scholarships for those marginalised by ethnicity, gender, socio-economic situation, conflict or displacement. PB has supported over 1,500 students on its scholarship programme and hundreds more through targeted post-secondary programmes in ethnic states and on Myanmar’s borders. In 2023, PB launched Myanmar’s first online scholarship opportunity, and continues to respond in an agile way as the current crisis evolves.
Our Theory of Change recognises that widening educational opportunity enables young people to gain the skills and knowledge to lead positive change in their communities and to build skills capacity to support Myanmar’s future development. We set the conditions where young people can achieve, and support them on their journey through higher education and into meaningful roles across civil society, business, I/NGOs, non-profits and community enterprise.
Our team members are based in the UK, Thailand and India. Programmes are run locally in Asia, supported by finance, strategy and fundraising through the UK office.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Governance Volunteer to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of our governance policies and procedures, manage organisational data effectively, and conduct compliance audits. The ideal candidate will have a background in governance, data management, or compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy and Procedure Management
- Develop, review, and update governance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor adherence to established policies and procedures across the organisation.
Data Management
- Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection regulations.
Compliance Audits
- Conduct regular compliance audits to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices.
- Prepare audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Foster positive relationships with board members, volunteers, staff, and external stakeholders in governance and compliance.
- Facilitate board orientation and ongoing training sessions for board members in governance and compliance.
- Recommend training for UK and local team members where required.
Risk Management
- Identify potential governance risks.
Experience:
- Previous experience in governance, data management, compliance, or a similar role.

We are looking to recruit people to one of the following four roles within our youth programme, for a minimum commitment of 10 weeks, and whilst these should guide applications, imagination and flexibility is encouraged when applying. Currently, the youth programme works with young refugees and asylum seekers across two sites, providing them with a sense of community and experiences that they wouldn’t otherwise receive!
There are some specific applicant requirements, however the most important is to have a strong desire to work with refugees and a commitment to improve the situation for them here in Greece. Second Tree works in a transparent way in a challenging and changeable situation on the field; therefore, an ability to learn quickly and be open to feedback is vital.
We are looking to recruit people to one of the following four roles within our youth programme, and whilst these should guide applications, imagination and flexibility is encouraged when applying.
The roles are:
- Children’s ESL teacher: responsible for the delivery of the programme’s English classes across two sites. Classes focus on low level English learning and must be fun and engaging. TEFL/equivalent experience is required.
- Scout/excursion leader: responsible for leading the weekend excursions for both camps, a highlight of the programme for participants! Excursions are based generally on the Scout model and require an organised, methodical planner who is confident leading groups of children.
- Arts and crafts specialist: responsible for using knowledge of art, music and practical skills to plan creative workshops within the existing curriculum. Assist the programme lead and scout leader when organising and partaking in excursions.
- Science/maths specialist: responsible for using knowledge of science and maths to plan creative and engaging workshops within the existing curriculum. Assist the programme lead and scout leader when organising and partaking in excursions.

Sport and Advice Hub Volunteer
Young Roots aims to improve the wellbeing and life chances of young refugees and asylum seekers. We work directly with young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK and operate through trusted community-based partners in Lebanon.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for volunteers to join our weekly Sport and Advice Hub in Brent. The Sport and Advice Hub is a space where 11-25 year old refugees and asylum seekers come to play football, cricket and other sports and also seek support with issues in their lives. It runs in Willesden every Wednesday from 4.45pm to 8pm.
The role would be a floating role between sports, board games and English class or on reception. So it is a chance to get involved in different activities!
You will be available to start w/c 20th May 2024.
In this role you will:
1. Provide a safe and welcoming environment for young asylum seekers and refugees
2. Help at the reception table with registration and finding out what kind of support the young people need (casework, mental health, immigration, social activities).
3. Help the Youth Development Worker and Coordinator to set up and run games and other activities at the youth club such as table tennis, cooking, board games, group discussions, feedback sessions.
4. Run a table where young people can practice English informally, contribute to sports activity, or support young people applying for jobs/volunteering
5. Assist the project staff to effectively deliver, monitor and evaluate the project.
6. Respect confidentiality and contribute to debriefs after the session.
7. If interested, to help on occasional trips locally and in central London (weekdays and/ or Saturdays).
PERSON SPECIFICATION
You will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

Action Village India
Action Village India (AVI) is a small, UK-based charity that fundraises for Indian NGO partners to deliver programmes that will best assist the poorest and most marginalised sections of communities in rural India. AVI supports campaigns for social justice and equality on Gandhian principles of nonviolence.
You will be working hand-in-hand with a small and very agile team in the London office and as such the internship will be a fantastic opportunity to ground yourself in the basics of charity day-to-day administration, communication and event fundraising.

Hours: 2 days per week plus attendance at WOMAD Festival 24-29th July 2024

Job Purpose:
This internship will focus on developing an exhibition for WOMAD festival that highlights the work on Action Village India, and support the team during the weekend of WOMAD festival.
The biggest fundraising event we hold every year is Madras Café, held at Womad Festival at the end of July. Madras Café began its life as a Chai and leaflet stall over 30 years ago to help educate people about Action Village India and the difficulties people in rural India faced; today it is an established festival institution serving delicious Indian food to over 4000 people over three days. The Action Village India team holds a stall in the Madras Café tent selling ethical products made in India, showcasing our exhibition, and informing people about Action Village India. In the run up to the festival you will work on the development of the exhibition. During the festival you will be working with the Events Intern and staff to ensure a successful running of the stall and the exhibition. You will need to be available in the set up and weekend of the festival – 24-29th July 2024.
Main duties and responsibilities:

CHEM Trust seeks new Trustees to guide the charity in the next exciting stage of its growth
CHEM Trust focuses its work on preventing this pollution. We bring together science and policy to identify the chemicals that need to be controlled and the best way to do this. We collaborate closely with other environmental and health groups to drive this positive change for people and nature.
Our main area of attention is at the EU level. Even though many improvements are needed, the EU is the region that has the most effective chemicals policy system and EU regulations shape other regulatory systems around the world. We do this work in association with our German partner, CHEM Trust Europe eV, as well as EU-wide groups such as the European Environment Bureau.
We also work in the UK, to keep us closely aligned with the EU system. At the global level we work to deliver improvements to global chemicals management, inspired and informed by the work already done at the EU level.
Since 2007, we have shaped chemicals policies, and are seen as trusted partners. We have a good reputation with experts, scientists, other charities, and industry. Many of our wonderful funders recognise the unique and vital work that we do and support us year in and year out.
We have grown considerably in recent years and now employ an amazing team of 12 people in the UK and a group of experts within the EU.

An independent charity, The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH) has been leading efforts to incorporate the values of environmental sustainability into the health sector since its establishment in 2008. Based in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this post will provide support to the WASH and Schools projects implemented by the NGO.
