Position: Head of Journalism (Volunteer)
Club Kenningwell United Women’s Football Club (KUWFC)
Location: Remote / South London (occasional match attendance encouraged)
Commitment: Up to 3 hours per week
About Us
Kenningwell United WFC is a non-profit women’s football team in the Greater London Women’s Football League. As part of the She’s Got Skills collective, we celebrate and promote women’s football, wellbeing, and inclusion.
### **Role Overview**
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic **Head of Journalism (Volunteer)** to lead our content creation and media coverage. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about sports journalism, storytelling, and promoting women’s grassroots football.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and produce engaging match reports, news articles, interviews, and features for the club’s website and social media
- Coordinate a small team of volunteer writers (if applicable)
- Liaise with coaches, players, and staff to gather stories and insights
- Uphold the club’s values and ensure all content is inclusive, accurate, and aligned with our mission
- Work flexibly, spending no more than 3 hours per week on club media
Requirements
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Experience in journalism, media, or content creation (student or graduate welcome)
- Passion for women’s football and community sport
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with social media and web publishing (desirable)
