Kingston Sea Cadets – TS Steadfast, part of London Western District, is looking for enthusiastic and committed Adult Volunteers to join our growing team.
Our volunteers play an important role in providing young people with opportunities to learn new skills, develop confidence, build leadership abilities and experience life beyond the classroom.
We deliver a varied programme including:
- 🚤 Boating and watersports
- 🎖️ Drill and ceremonial training
- 🧭 Seamanship and adventure training
- 🩹 First Aid
- 🔧 Marine Engineering
- 📋 Administration
- 🍳 Catering
- 👥 Leadership, mentoring and youth development
What You'll Do
Depending on your interests, skills and experience, you could support the unit by:
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of cadet training and activities
- Supporting boating, watersports and practical training
- Helping deliver drill, ceremonial and leadership activities
- Mentoring and encouraging cadets to develop their confidence and skills
- Supporting unit administration and events
- Sharing your professional, practical or specialist knowledge
- Working as part of a wider volunteer team to ensure activities are safe, inclusive and enjoyable
- Supporting cadets to work towards their personal and Sea Cadet qualifications
When You'll Volunteer
Kingston Unit parades twice a week:
- Tuesday evenings
- Sundays
We understand that volunteers have work, family and other commitments. Flexible volunteering is very welcome, and you don't need to be available for every parade.
Whether you can volunteer regularly, occasionally, or support specific activities where you have particular skills, we'd be happy to hear from you.

You don't need previous Sea Cadet experience. We're interested in people who are:

- Able to bring their own skills, experience or interests to the unit
