Job description

To support the successful running of the group by talking with the older members, helping them join in activities and helping with the provision of light refreshments.

About the Role

The aim of social and activity groups is to help improve the quality of life older people who are socially isolated and may only get out to this activity. Volunteers helping in our social groups assist with providing group members with the support they need to join in the activity, including working one to one with an older person to help them enjoy the activity, serve refreshments, and help people with activities.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer?

Generally, we ask for a minimum of two hour per week for at least six months.

What kind of support will I receive?

You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will match you with an older person, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.

Travel expenses will be paid.
