Trustee - we are looking for three new Trustees

Dorset needs Mosaic, Mosaic needs you

Could you take a leading role in ensuring bereaved children and young people get the support they need?

Then, become a trustee with Mosaic and help us ensure the specialist counselling, phone advice, face to face groups and peer activities we offer continue to support the children and young people who come to us.

As a Trustee you will take an active leading role in supporting the organisation’s work with children and young people. They may have lost someone special - a parent, a sibling, friend or other member of their family. We know our work is transformational, helping individuals, families, schools and communities face what can sometimes seem an unimaginably difficult period.

This is an exciting time for Mosaic as we look to support the growing number of children and young people who are referred to us. As a trustee, you will be part of an enthusiastic team taking an active role in supporting the organisation’s work. You will help ensure the charity is sustainable and steer the charity to meet the needs of those it supports, working in partnership with many other Dorset groups. You will use and improve your governance, leadership and strategy skills and build relationships with outside agencies, supporters, staff and other volunteers.

Ideally you will be Dorset-based and have some experience or knowledge of legal issues and IT systems. However, life skills gained in a range of walks of life are also an important consideration in our recruitment. Training for candidates new to the position of trustee will be provided.

There are four Board meetings a year, with two in person, as well as a Strategy Day.  Trustees also take part in activities around the year such as fund-raising events, and are committed ambassadors for Mosaic, meeting with volunteers and counsellors.
