Learning Volunteer
Join our welcoming team as a Learning Volunteer and help create memorable learning experiences for young visitors and families at the museum. A science background is not required, just a positive, friendly attitude and a willingness to learn and engage with a wide range of visitors.
As a Learning Volunteer, you will play a vital part in engaging visitors by helping our delivery team with hands-on activities and workshops designed to spark creativity, promote problem solving and grow a love of science and learning. We’ll provide training to help you bring these concepts to life.
In this role, you will:
· Encourage participants to learn new things through interactive opportunities.
· Cultivate an inclusive environment that fosters positive learning interactions.
· With our support, help make science concepts relatable through your enthusiasm and approach.
· Support engaging workshops and activities for families and schools.
You will have the chance to:
· Gain valuable experience in science communication and public engagement with diverse audiences.
· Make a positive impact by inspiring young minds and cultivating a love for learning.
· Attend training with us to build transferable skills in science communication and working with audiences.
Initially this role will support summer holiday learning activities in August 2025 (weekdays and weekends), then we plan that there will be opportunities at weekends and school holidays. The role is rostered based on volunteers’ availability, so we can be flexible around you.
