Provide informal communication support for a profoundly deaf staff member during conversations and discussions when they are onsite
• Help ensure they can fully participate in team interactions, briefings, and informal workplace chats • Facilitate smooth communication between the deaf staff member and other staff members using BSL
• Support an inclusive and accessible working environment through effective communication
• Work collaboratively with the staff member to understand her preferred communication style and needs • Promote inclusion and equal participation
• Adhere to the relevant policies and procedures of the Trust, including Infection control, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Data Protection and Confidentiality policies Exclusions: This role outline is binding in honour only, and is not intended to be legally binding
Volunteers are not expected to be involved in any of the following: • Clinical or medical treatments of any kind • Psychological interventions • Input of patient data on any systems • Answering the phones or interacting with patients
