About CAAS
CAAS provides an Autism and ADHD Support Service across the 8 boroughs of NW London from our base in Eastcote and offices around London. We offer information, advice, and support to ADHD/Autistic people, their families, and professionals, with the aim of improving quality of life and building neurodivergent-aware communities.
We are incredibly fortunate to be in a sound financial position, with income of around £1.7m per year, and around 40 staff. We offer 60 different services, including personalised one2one support, social groups, psycho-education courses and specialist workshops. We also have a thriving training and awareness raising service, providing ADHD and autism training to statutory services, schools and voluntary sector organisations across NW London.
We’ve grown steadily over the last 25 years, and last year we supported more than 9,000 people, across 18,000 attendances. Looking ahead, our priority is making sure everyone who could benefit from CAAS knows we’re here for them. We’re investing in outreach, inclusivity, and accessibility - breaking down barriers so our support reaches every corner of our community.
In this role, you will be leading the established (and lovely) Board of Trustees, who provide operational governance for the charity, determine its strategic direction, and help shape a positive, sustainable future for CAAS and the communities we serve.
Most importantly, you will be contributing towards our impact intention, which is that ADHD and autistic individuals, and those who support them, have improved mental wellbeing, are better able to engage with home-life, school, or work, and need less support from NHS/statutory services. Ultimately, we want to help people to thrive.

About The Role
Charities like CAAS can only exist with the help of Trustees, and we are hugely grateful to everyone that volunteers to take on this role. The Chair plays a unique role in guiding the Board, leading strategic discussions, supporting and challenging the CEO, and fostering a culture of inclusion, transparency, and good governance.
We work hard to ensure the Chair is supported effectively to discharge their responsibilities and feel a sense of pride – and of enjoyment – in leading the Board of CAAS.
As Chair, you will work closely with fellow Trustees to ensure the Board fulfils its responsibilities, and with the CEO to provide support, oversight, and thought partnership. This is a rewarding opportunity to help shape the future of a thriving, impactful organisation, and to champion the rights and wellbeing of neurodivergent people across NW London.
We know that every Chair is unique, and bring their own range of skills, experience, and perspectives to support the organisation’s leadership and development. We are therefore looking for someone who has a passion for what CAAS is trying to achieve and a willingness to commit to attending our meetings and leading our discussions. You don’t need to have chaired a Board before. We’re looking for someone who can lead with integrity, listen well, and help us make thoughtful, inclusive decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Governance
· Provide leadership to the Board, ensuring effective governance and strategic oversight.
· Chair Board meetings effectively, ensuring all voices are heard and decisions are made collectively and transparently.

· Lead on trustee recruitment, induction, and development, ensuring the Board has the necessary skills and diversity.

· Attend and actively participate in quarterly Board meetings and relevant sub-committees or working groups.
· Prepare for meetings by reading papers and contributing to discussions.

Person Specification
Essential
· Demonstrable leadership experience, ideally within a governance or strategic context.

Commitment
The Board meets 8 times a year, mostly by video call, and Board meetings are usually around 2hrs in length. Once a year we meet for a longer session, in person, to consider strategic items in more depth.
All Trustees will be asked to read a few papers in advance of the meeting, which could take 1-2hrs each meeting.
All Trustees are also encouraged to engage with the organisation between meetings, for example attending events, meeting staff, or supporting specific initiatives.
The Chair will need to take on additional responsibility for preparing for Board meetings, supporting through transition periods and strategic planning cycles, or representing CAAS at external events. As such, the total time commitment for a Chair is around 1 day per month.
The successful candidate will initially join as Vice Chair, working alongside our longstanding Chair, whose term ends in November 2026. Appointment to Chair will be mutually agreed with the Board, on or before that date
Trustee Terms are ordinarily for 4 years, and Trustees can be appointed for a 2nd 4-year term if desired. Chairs will serve within their normal Trustee Terms.
Exclusions
Please note that Section 72(1) of the Charities Act 1993 disqualifies anyone who:
· has been convicted of an offence involving deception or dishonesty, unless the conviction is spent
· is an undischarged bankrupt
· has previously been removed from trusteeship of a charity by the court or the Charity Commissioners
· is under a disqualification order under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986
It is an offence to act as a charity trustee while disqualified unless the Charity Commission has given a waiver under section 72(4) of the Charities Act 1993.

Events Officer has the responisbility of organising (along with the help of a Trustee Events Manager) our magical visits to children/adults with LD, this could be at the hospital, social groups, refugee centres, libraries etc etc.
They will monitor the chapter email for submitted event booking forms (some of these will come from events organised by the Events Manager on Trustees). These will then be added to the calendar and advertised to volunteers. They will ensure each event organised has a handful of volunteers confirmed within a week of the event itself. They will then provide information and support to a Lead Volunteer to run the events. They will ensure that regular events are being attended by volunteers and that they have the costume and materials that are needed for these. They will follow up after events to ensure social media posts are made, hours are uploaded and that costumes are returned. They will ensure that all volunteers are attending events.

The Chapter Secretary ensures smooth running of the local chapter by managing communication, meetings, and documentation. Finance Trustee - What we are looking for
As with all our Trustee roles we are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and someone who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. For the Finance Trustee role you will:

Who are we looking for?
At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to develop an online food bank, allowing people access to a food bank that may not get help through their local council/Job Centre and may only want to use the service online.
People may want to use the online service of a food bank for many reasons, whether due to disability or not.
The role of Project Co-ordinator role will oversee this project with guidance and input from the trustees, lived experience board members and with the support of other co-ordinators that are relevant to the outreach, funding and running of the service.

What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

We’re looking for a communications-minded creator to lead Europia’s external newsletter (every two months) and coordinate content for the Annual Report. ABOUT US
Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service (BHIMS) is a charity that has been working to reduce conflict in the local community for over 30 years. As part of Sussex Mediation Alliance, our core services cover community mediation and conflict coaching in Brighton & Hove, and Lewes areas, while also providing workplace mediation and training services. Operationally, we are run by a small team of paid staff, and our core work is delivered by 50+ volunteer mediators.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We currently have a very active board of 5 trustees and are looking for additional board members to expand on current skillset and help the charity deliver even better service to our community in a sustainable and optimised way.
Specifically, we need our new board members to help us manage financial risks, optimise ways the charity operates and help us secure funding for our future. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
Alongside our existing board members, you will be jointly involved in all board responsibilities, shaping the future direction of the charity and helping ensure the charity is carrying out its purpose and all resources and funds are used only in furthering its charitable objective. You will be preparing for and attending monthly board meetings, contributing to board discussions and decision making, and assisting in setting the direction for future fundraising efforts.
Working closely with the Chair of Trustees and Finance Officer you will:

Oversee our charity’s financial health and administration, ensuring our strategic objectives and legal / regulatory obligations are met and all financial risks are managed

Provide guidance on the charity's financial viability and strategy and the financial implications of strategic and operational plans

Report financial information - budgets, internal management accounts, and annual financial statements - to the board.

Ensure we maintain proper accounting records and robust financial controls, as required by statutory bodies.

Lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of financial reserves, cost management, financial and investment activity and policies, ensuring alignment with our aims and legal responsibilities.

Act as a signatory for banking processes and funding applications.

This is a vital behind-the-scenes role supporting our Operations & Finance team. You’ll be working with platforms such as JustGiving, Enthuse, PayPal, Stripe, Benevity, Charities Trust, and CAF, helping us reconcile transactions with our Salesforce database. By doing this, you’ll make sure supporter records are accurate, income is correctly tracked, and every donor gets the recognition they deserve.
Tasks will include:
• Reconciling weekly income from multiple fundraising platforms
• Matching donor details to Salesforce records and updating them where needed
• Supporting our fundraising teams by flagging anomalies and preparing acknowledgements
• Helping with general database clean-up, including checking fundraising page imports, households, and recurring donations
This role would suit someone who is methodical, enjoys problem-solving, and takes satisfaction in seeing data cleaned up and put right. No prior Salesforce experience is needed – we’ll provide full training – but you should feel comfortable working with spreadsheets and handling confidential information carefully.

Chair of Trustees
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to take on the role of Chair of Trustees and guide a charity supporting women and children.
Position: Chair of Trustees
Location: Remote / Luton / Bedfordshire
Hours: Approx. 4 Board meetings per year plus AGM, quarterly subcommittees, strategy sessions and additional meetings with the CEO and stakeholders

About the role

Your Role as Volunteer Admin Support
Responsibilities:
● Updating and maintaining client and referral information on Salesforce (training provided)
● Preparing and sending standard emails, agreements, and communication
● Assisting with filing, scanning, and organising paperwork
● Supporting with data entry and record-keeping for monitoring and evaluation
● Helping prepare resources and materials for therapy sessions or events
● Ensuring all records are handled securely and in line with confidentiality requirements
Time Commitment:
We ask that volunteers offer a regular commitment of a few hours each week. This can be flexible and, in some cases, carried out from home.
Location:
Tasks may take place at our Bracknell office or remotely, depending on the type of support being given.

Read Easy provides free, confidential, one to-one reading coaching for adults who struggle with reading, through a network of volunteer groups. Read Easy groups are changing the lives of individual adults across the country by providing them with the support they need to learn to read, and in turn opening doors for them to all sorts of new opportunities in life. As the Team Leader you are responsible for the proper and effective direction of your local group. This role will appeal to someone with enthusiasm and energy who will enjoy managing a team of diverse volunteers. Ideally, the Team Leader will remain in this role for at least two years.
How we will support you
You will be provided with the Management Team Handbook, training/induction, policies, and guidance specifically needed for this role, including access to support from a Read Easy UK Regional Adviser, via your Team Leader. You will also be invited to Read Easy UK’s regional forums and annual conference which gives volunteers an opportunity for networking with those from other groups.
What you will be doing
● Leading the Management Team in setting goals and planning activities so that it functions effectively in delivering reading coaching to as many local people as possible.
● Encouraging and supporting Team members to fulfil and enjoy their roles, and managing succession planning for the group.
● Leading meetings and setting agendas.
● Ensuring that tasks are delegated and effectively completed so that all on the Management Team are able to contribute to the success of Read Easy locally.
● Ensuring that the requirements of your Constitution and Affiliation Agreement are met, and that the guidance in the handbooks provided by Read Easy UK is followed.
● Acting as an ambassador for your Read Easy group and building positive and beneficial relationships with key stakeholders.
● Building strong relationships with your Read Easy UK Regional Adviser.
● Maintaining and promoting the reputation of your group and of Read Easy UK as a whole and ensuring that members of the group uphold Read Easy UK’s values
