We are looking to recruit an Activities Volunteer for the Guernsey Group. As our local group Activities Volunteer you’ll help us to set up activities in the area. Whether you’re serving refreshments, talking to people, registering attendees or collecting payments, you’ll be making sure everyone feel welcome.
In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills. Most importantly you’ll be supporting your local group to run activities that bring friendship and fun to your local MS Community.
About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be able to apply disability, equality and inclusion practices and understand and apply our risk management system. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.
You will be reliable and easy to contact and you need to live in or near the area the group to carry out this role.
Time Commitment
We estimate this role will need up to two hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

Been There is a charity in the form of an app that connects adults with a vetted and trained Mentor to support with their mental health relating to body image issues. We are looking for a lovely Safeguarding Lead to take the reigns.
What will you be doing?
As the designated safeguarding lead,you act as the main source of support, advice and expertise for safeguarding at Been There for the beneficiaries. You will be working closely with the Founder & CEO, Head of Operations, Trustees and volunteer Mentors. The role will be remote with the opportunity to meet up too.
As the designated safeguarding lead, you will:
- Advise and support the senior team in developing and establishing Been There's approach to safeguarding.
- Play a lead role in maintaining and reviewing Been There's plan for safeguarding.
- Coordinate the distribution of policies, procedures and safeguarding resources throughout the charity.
- Advise on training needs and development, providing training where appropriate.
- Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and volunteers.
- Manage safeguarding concerns, allegations or incidents reported to your organisation.
- Report on any concerns and keep the board updated

- Manage referrals to key safeguarding agencies (e.g. social services or police) of any incidents or allegations of abuse and harm.
What are we looking for?
- Level 3 Safeguarding training
- Over 3 years experience as safeguarding lead

- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Experience of providing training, guidance and support to others
- Expert knowledge of legislation and guidance on safeguarding and working with young people, including knowledge of the responsibilities of schools and other agencies

Age restrictions - 18+
We are looking for volunteers to join our team and drive our hospice minibus, assisting patients with getting to and from appointments. By collecting patients from their homes in the minibus and bringing them to the hospice and then ensuring them get home safely, you will have a key role in the team.
Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:
- Collect patients from their homes on a prearranged day and time and bring them to the hospice in the minibus
- Return patients back home at the end of the day services session, out-patient appointment or discharge from ward
- Ensure patients gain safe entry to their home
- Refer all medical, social and personal problems expressed by patients to staff
- Complete MIDAS training and update when necessary
- Help with other related tasks when necessary

- The Finance and Governance Trustee would also be required to attend four finance and audit committee meetings per year.
