Job description

The role is to support the Trusts and Grants team with research into potential trusts and foundations for grant applications and appeals.  Tasks may include:

  • To work with the Trusts and Grants Manager to undertake research, mainly on the internet

  • To prepare a pre-set trust summary on each potential organisation identified by the Trusts and Grants Manager or research.

  • To recognise other potential leads and identify networks

  • To brief the Trusts and Grants Manager on all key findings

  • To keep relevant documents and the database up to date.

  • To treat others with dignity and respect at all times

  • To abide by the Professional Code of Conduct for Fundraisers

  • To maintain confidentiality of all information at all times, including password protecting computer records

  • To report accidents recording the incident in the relevant book

  • To be an ambassador for the charity

  • To ensure the health and safety of yourself and others at all time

  • To assist the Trusts and Grants Manager with any related tasks including helping to write applications if this is of interest.

Skills required:

  • Excellent research skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to distil key facts from a breadth of information

  • A sound knowledge of Word & Excel packages

  • Ability to use initiative and curiosity to identify leads to other potential donors

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise workload

  • Ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail

  • Persistence & determination in identifying information

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic about Keech Hospice Care

  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all time
