WANTED: THE KNOWLEDGE DROPPER
ROLE: VOLUNTEER TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT LEAD
LOCATION: REMOTE / ON-SITE WORKSHOPS
VIBE: EXPERT SKILLS. NO EGO.
THE MISSION
PROJECT MONO is only as strong as its crew. We don’t expect our volunteers to be experts on Day 1, but we do expect them to be the best by Day 30. We need a Training Lead who can take safeguarding, youth engagement, and urban project delivery and turn them into high-energy, "no-fluff" training sessions.
You are the one who ensures that when a volunteer puts on that B&W lanyard, they know exactly how to handle a disclosure, how to de-escalate a situation, and how to inspire a room.
THE GIG
-
The Mono Academy: Designing and delivering short, punchy induction sessions (Online and In-person).
-
Skill Sharpening: Running workshops on "The Art of the Drop"—how to manage a pop-up space safely.
-
Safeguarding Sync: Ensuring every volunteer understands the "Safe-Guarding Mono" framework inside out.
-
Resource Creation: Developing "Cheat Sheets" and "Pocket Guides" for volunteers to use during events.
ABOUT YOU
-
The Teacher: You have experience in training, youth work, or coaching. You know how to make information stick.
-
The Translator: You can take a 50-page council policy and turn it into 5 bullet points that a 20-year-old DJ can understand and use.
-
The Engaging Voice: You’re comfortable leading a group, whether it's 5 people in a coffee shop or 30 on a Zoom call.
-
The Quality Control: You’re passionate about excellence. You want MONO volunteers to be the most respected in London.
THE COMMITMENT
Flexible. Roughly 3-5 hours a week. You’ll lead a monthly induction and spend some time developing new training content as the project evolves.
THE PERKS
-
Shape the Standard: You set the bar for how youth work is delivered in this project.
-
Impact: You see your training in action every time a volunteer handles a situation with confidence.
-
Professional Growth: Perfect for someone looking to build a portfolio in L&D, HR, or Education.
HOW TO APPLY
Respond with:
-
The "60-Second Lesson": If you had one minute to teach a new volunteer how to engage a disengaged teenager, what would you say?
-
Your Experience: What’s the most complex thing you’ve ever had to teach someone?
-
The "Why": Why does a project like MONO need high-quality training?
PROJECT MONO. MASTER THE CRAFT.
PROJECT MONO is a London-based, volunteer-powered youth collective. We strip back the red tape to deliver high-octane, short-term urban projects.
