Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

What your role will involve

You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
• Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.
• Keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy.
• Talking to customers about Sense and the work we do. 

When you’re ready, we’ll provide you with additional training to:

• Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.
• Put sales through the till, packing them and thanking the customer for shopping with us.
• Talk to customers about Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives.

If you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:

• Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
• Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
• Opening and closing the shop when needed.
• Cashing up at the end of the day.

Volunteering for Sense

Sense is a leading disability charity with extensive knowledge and expertise in delivering personalised, creative and flexible support for disabled people with complex needs. Our tailored approach ensures that every person is empowered to live fully at every stage of life.

Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

What your role will involve

You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
• Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.
• Keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy.
• Talking to customers about Sense and the work we do. 

When you’re ready, we’ll provide you with additional training to:

• Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.
• Put sales through the till, packing them and thanking the customer for shopping with us.
• Talk to customers about Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives.

If you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:

• Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
• Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
• Opening and closing the shop when needed.
• Cashing up at the end of the day.

As a Content Creator Volunteer at ArtClusiv, you will bring the research and stories of Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) artists to life across our social media channels. Working within our Marketing and Communications team, your key responsibilities will include:

• Transform Research into Content: Take information gathered by our Content Researchers and turn it into engaging visuals, reels, carousels, and posts suitable for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms.
• Create Social Media Assets: Design graphics, captions, and short videos that highlight both historical and emerging BIPOC artists.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with the Marketing team to align content with campaigns, weekly schedules, and initiatives.
• Maintain Brand Voice & Aesthetic: Ensure that all content is consistent with ArtClusiv’s style, mission, and values, creating a recognizable and professional presence.
• Content Scheduling & Planning: Help schedule posts, plan themes, and suggest creative ideas to maximize audience engagement.
• Support Campaigns & Launches: Assist in special campaigns, events, or feature launches by creating supporting visual or written materials.

What are we looking for?

Qualities and Experience:

• Creative & Visual Storyteller: Ability to turn research and ideas into engaging visuals, videos, and social media posts.
• Social Media Savvy: Comfortable with Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms; understands trends, hashtags, and audience engagement.
• Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy when representing artists and maintaining ArtClusiv’s brand voice.
• Collaborative: Works well with researchers, marketing team members, and other volunteers.

Are you a member of the Methodist Church in Britain (MCB) seeking to use your skills, expertise and gifts in a new way?

Could you make a significant contribution to an important and hard-working body in the Methodist Church?

We are seeking new members to join our Audit & Risk Assurance Committee, which plays a vital role in supporting good governance within the Church. The Committee reports to the Connexional Council, which is the trustee body of the MCB.

About You

We are keen to recruit a member with operational experience of the church – this could be a minister or a lay person with significant experience of the day to day workings at church, circuit or district level. We are also looking for a member who has IT experience and can assist the committee with issues relating to AI, Cyber Security and Digital.

Working collaboratively with other members of the committee, you will bring your professional skills and experience to bear across the committee’s responsibilities. Not only will you have an understanding of the Church, you will also bring a ‘critical friend’ mindset to scrutinising the accounts and governance framework of the Connexional Council. As the Church continues to develop its mission, maintaining effective governance is a vital task.
