Early intervention and play volunteer (Barnet)

What makes a great volunteer play session? Someone who can bring energy, creativity and genuine warmth to a Friday afternoon.

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. As an Early intervention and play volunteer, you'll help deliver interactive, fun play sessions for disabled children in Sense centre Barnet, working alongside our Early Intervention Play Leader and their families.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Calm, kind and genuinely interested in disabled children and families
• Creative with a flexible, playful approach to support
• Comfortable travelling to different community locations
• Able to commit 4 hours per month on Fridays, 3pm–7pm (with additional optional shifts during school holidays)

This role might include:

• Setting up and tidying away play activities
• Joining in games, singing, crafts and interactive play with children and families
• Helping children engage with activities at their own pace
• Being aware of potential risks during play
• Offering invitations to play and building connections with families

You'll need:

• A DBS check (we'll support you through the process)
• Willingness to learn and support disabled children
