Job description

Become a Community Services Manager at SUNSHINE (Volunteer Role)

Help shape and support the community programmes that bring joy, connection, and belonging to neighbourhoods across London.

Loneliness is one of the quietest crises of our time — but at SUNSHINE, we believe in rewriting that story. We are a new loneliness and wellbeing charity with a bold mission: to bring people together, spark joy, nurture belonging, and create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.

Our charity application is submitted. Our Trustees are in place. Our first pilot programmes are ready to launch. Now we are looking for someone warm, organised, and community‑minded to help shape and support the delivery of SUNSHINE’s local services.

This is not just a volunteer role. This is a chance to bring SUNSHINE directly into communities — one gathering, one moment, one connection at a time.

Could you be our Community Services Manager?

We’re searching for someone who understands the power of community — someone who knows that when people come together, joy grows, confidence returns, and loneliness begins to lift.

You might be perfect for this if you bring:

  • Warmth, empathy, and a natural ability to connect with people

  • Good organisation and communication skills

  • A passion for community, wellbeing, and social impact

  • Experience or interest in community programmes, events, or group facilitation

  • A collaborative spirit and a willingness to get stuck in

  • A commitment to creating safe, welcoming, inclusive spaces

As a Community Services Manager, you’ll work closely with our Head of SUNSHINE Services, our volunteers, and our Founder & CEO to support the smooth running of our community activities — from coffee mornings to wellbeing workshops to digital inclusion sessions.

What you’ll help us build

  • Warm, welcoming community sessions where people feel seen, supported, and uplifted.

  • Smooth programme coordination, ensuring volunteers, venues, and participants are all supported.

  • A friendly presence at sessions, helping create a safe, joyful atmosphere.

  • Clear communication and support for volunteers, ensuring they feel confident and prepared.

  • A community feedback loop, helping us learn, adapt, and grow our services.

  • A neighbourhood‑level movement that brings SUNSHINE into everyday life across London.

Your presence, organisation, and care will help ensure that every SUNSHINE session feels meaningful, safe, and full of connection.

Why SUNSHINE?

Because we believe in:

  • Joy as a form of care

  • Community as a source of strength

  • Connection as a human right

  • People as the heart of everything we do

If you’re someone who leads with kindness, loves community spaces, and wants to help build programmes that brighten lives, we would love to meet you.

Ready to help us bring more SUNSHINE into the world?

Let’s build something beautiful together — one session, one neighbour, one community at a time.
