Job description

Become our Founding Honorary Company Secretary on our Board of Trustees - Approx. 3–5 hours per month | Evening Trustee Meetings | Flexible and mission-driven

Be the Organisational Backbone of SUNSHINE

SUNSHINE is a new start-up volunteer-led charity on a mission to combat loneliness with joy, connection, and compassion. As we prepare to launch across London and beyond, we’re assembling a passionate founding team to guide this movement from its very foundations.

And we need someone special to help make it all run smoothly — an Honorary Secretary who thrives on clarity, precision, and people-centred systems.

What You’ll Do

As our Honorary Company Secretary, you’ll be a vital pillar of our governance and operations — ensuring that SUNSHINE remains well-organised, legally sound, and beautifully run. Your role includes:

  • Coordinating Trustee Meetings: Prepare agendas, circulate papers, and keep minutes that reflect both heart and strategic insight.

  • Ensuring Governance Excellence: Help us stay compliant with Charity Commission and Companies House requirements.

  • Formalising Our Structure: Support with policies, decision logs, and governance documents that make SUNSHINE transparent, trustworthy, and future-ready.

  • Championing Organisational Culture: Work alongside the Chair and fellow Trustees to instil the values of care, respect, and community in all our processes.

In short, you’ll help create an experience where everyone — volunteer, Trustee, or beneficiary — feels valued, empowered, and connected.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome anyone with a talent for organisation and a love of people-powered missions. Ideal candidates may have skills in:

  • Charity Governance: Set up and maintain robust systems aligned to legal and ethical standards.
  • Admin & Coordination: Keep our teams organised and our meetings meaningful.
  • Policy & Compliance: Help establish a transparent and trusted foundation.
  • Leadership Support: Act as a key liaison between the Chair, Board, and wider volunteers.

You don’t need to be a legal expert — just someone with integrity, a detail-driven mindset, and a passion for helping others shine. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Why Step In Now?

Because SUNSHINE is still being born. This is your opportunity to:

  • Co-found our culture and structure

  • Shape the way we communicate and collaborate

  • Build something beautiful that lasts

Your role as Secretary will directly impact how SUNSHINE runs and grows — and how well we deliver life-changing support to those who need it most.

Ready to Help Us Shine?

If you believe that clarity is kindness… If you want to make sure every voice is heard and every step is documented with care… If you’re ready to lend your skills to a movement that’s making loneliness a thing of the past...

Then we would love to meet you.

Join our team. Join our mission. Join SUNSHINE.
