Programme Coordinator (Monthly Coffee Mornings) – Volunteer Role

SUNSHINE Charity – Ending Loneliness for Londoners and Beyond

Do you believe no one should feel alone?

At SUNSHINE Charity, we’re a grassroots, volunteer‑powered start‑up building something bold, hopeful, and deeply human — a movement to end loneliness for Londoners and, one day, far beyond. We’re at the very beginning of our journey, and what we build now will shape everything that comes next.

To bring people together in warm, welcoming spaces — to create moments of connection that brighten someone’s month — we need someone extraordinary.

We need you!!!

Why This Role Matters

Loneliness is silent, but its impact is loud. It affects mental health, physical wellbeing, confidence, and hope. For many people, even one friendly conversation can make a world of difference.

Our Monthly Coffee Mornings will be one of SUNSHINE’s first community programmes — a simple, human space where people can meet, chat, laugh, and feel part of something again.

As our Programme Coordinator, you will make these moments possible. You will help create a warm, safe, welcoming environment where people feel seen, valued, and connected.

Your coordination will help someone feel less alone.

What You’ll Lead

This is not just a role — it’s a chance to build something meaningful from the ground up.

You will:

  • Plan, organise, and coordinate SUNSHINE’s Monthly Coffee Mornings, ensuring each event runs smoothly.

  • Work with volunteers, helping them feel confident, prepared, and supported.

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere, making sure attendees feel comfortable and included.

  • Manage logistics, including venue coordination, materials, refreshments, and event setup.

  • Communicate with attendees, sharing event details and gathering feedback.

  • Track attendance and insights, helping us understand impact and improve over time.

  • Collaborate with the wider team, ensuring the programme aligns with SUNSHINE’s mission and values.

This is a role for someone who believes small moments can create big change.

Who You Are

You’re someone who:

  • Loves bringing people together and creating warm, welcoming spaces.

  • Believes deeply in kindness, connection, and community.

  • Has experience in event coordination, community engagement, hospitality, or people‑focused roles.

  • Thrives in start‑up environments where initiative and creativity matter.

  • Is organised, reliable, and great at communicating with different kinds of people.

  • Wants to help build something that will grow long after the first foundations are laid.

Most importantly, you’re someone who wants to help people feel connected again.

Why Join SUNSHINE?

Because this is your chance to:

  • Shape one of the charity’s first community programmes.

  • Create spaces where people feel welcome, supported, and valued.

  • Work alongside passionate, hopeful, determined people.

  • Know that your work directly helps end loneliness.

  • Be part of something bigger than all of us.

Your coordination will help someone smile again. Your presence will help someone feel included. Your leadership will help someone feel less alone.

We Need You — Now

We are at the beginning of our journey, and our Monthly Coffee Mornings will be a lifeline for many. If you’ve ever wanted to use your skills to create real, human connection, this is the moment.

If your heart is saying “yes,” then you have a heart of gold — and we want to hear from you.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a short statement about why this role speaks to you. We welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life.

Come help us bring SUNSHINE into the lives of those who need it most.

Together, we can end loneliness.

Together, we can bring the sunshine back.
