About the Role

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll play a key part in helping SUNSHINE grow by supporting volunteers from the moment they apply. You’ll help with welcoming new volunteers, answering questions, keeping records up to date, and making sure everyone feels supported and valued.

This is a friendly, flexible role — no management experience needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Welcoming new volunteers and helping them settle in.

  • Responding to volunteer enquiries.

  • Keeping simple volunteer records up to date.

  • Helping schedule volunteers for activities and events.

  • Supporting the Founder/CEO with volunteer communications.

  • Helping create a positive, inclusive volunteer experience.

You won’t be responsible for supervising staff or handling complex HR tasks.

What You Don’t Need

  • Previous volunteer management experience.

  • Qualifications.

  • Charity sector experience.

  • A big time commitment.

We welcome anyone who is organised, friendly and enjoys helping others.

Time Commitment

2–4 hours per week, flexible around your life. Can be done remotely with optional in‑person meet‑ups.

What You’ll Gain

  • Experience in volunteer coordination.

  • Communication and organisational skills.

  • Confidence working in a charity environment.

  • Training and ongoing support.

  • A friendly team and a meaningful cause.

  • The chance to help reduce loneliness in your community.

Ideal For

  • People who enjoy supporting others.

  • Students, career‑changers, retirees.

  • Anyone wanting experience in the charity sector.

  • Someone who likes organising and connecting people.

How to Apply

If you’d like to help volunteers feel supported and valued — and play a key role in helping SUNSHINE grow — we’d love to hear from you.
