Job Overview:

Weekly, we host a Wednesday afternoon football club from 16:30 to 17:30 at Rectory Park Football Centre, Middlesex FA, Ruislip Road, Northolt, UB5 5FA (the home of 'Middlesex FA') for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated FA qualified Football Coach or Coaches to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game and a desire to educate and develop players at various skill levels. This role involves not only coaching but also mentoring young athletes, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training programmes that enhance players' skills and understanding of football.
  • Conduct weekly practice sessions, focusing on both individual and team development.
  • Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and enjoyment of the sport.
  • Organise and lead competitive matches, ensuring all players are prepared and motivated.
  • Maintain open communication with players, parents, and other coaching staff regarding player progress and team goals.
  • Stay updated on the latest coaching techniques, strategies, and safety protocols in sports coaching.

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of football rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Ability to educate players effectively, adapting coaching methods to suit different learning styles.
  • Excellent communication skills to motivate and inspire athletes.
  • Strong organisational skills to plan training sessions and manage team logistics.
  • Patience and resilience in working with young athletes of varying abilities.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive team culture that emphasises respect, teamwork, and fair play.

SEND training will be provided from the outset and continuously throughout your time with us.

Owing to the nature of these training sessions we are primarily seeking coaches who will undertake this role on a volunteer basis (travel costs included). However, we are very open to discussions regarding appropriate renumeration.
