About Us
The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in
Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children.
We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to
identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions. We
offer a baby bank, a charity shop & various community support services to help
women facing crises or challenging situations.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate and organised Assistant Operations Manager (On-site Volunteer) to lead the delivery and redevelopment of our flagship Baby Bank service.
This is a key role focused on rebuilding, structuring, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service, while maintaining compassionate support for families in need.
This is a fast-moving opportunity, and volunteers can start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Leadership
- Oversee daily Baby Bank operations
- Manage referrals and client appointments
- Ensure timely, respectful, and professional support
Volunteer Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
- Maintain structured scheduling and prevent burnout
- Conduct regular volunteer reviews
Stock & Inventory
- Manage donations, storage, and distribution
- Monitor stock levels and maintain quality standards
Corporate Engagement
- Coordinate corporate volunteer days
- Build relationships with local business partners
Administration & Systems
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Support digital systems and workflow improvements
- Ensure data protection compliance
Funding & Reporting
- Track service impact and outcomes
- Support funding applications and reporting
Compliance & Safeguarding
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding and organisational policies
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Previous experience in administrative or office support roles preferred
- Experience in customer service or front-line communication
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Comfortable using digital systems and databases
Skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- High attention to detail
- Professional phone and email etiquette
- Organised and structured approach to work
- Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable families
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
