About Us

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in

Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children.

We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to

identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions. We

offer a baby bank, a charity shop & various community support services to help

women facing crises or challenging situations.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and organised Assistant Operations Manager (On-site Volunteer) to lead the delivery and redevelopment of our flagship Baby Bank service.

This is a key role focused on rebuilding, structuring, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service, while maintaining compassionate support for families in need.

This is a fast-moving opportunity, and volunteers can start immediately.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Leadership

  • Oversee daily Baby Bank operations
  • Manage referrals and client appointments
  • Ensure timely, respectful, and professional support

Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
  • Maintain structured scheduling and prevent burnout
  • Conduct regular volunteer reviews

Stock & Inventory

  • Manage donations, storage, and distribution
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain quality standards

Corporate Engagement

  • Coordinate corporate volunteer days
  • Build relationships with local business partners

Administration & Systems

  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Support digital systems and workflow improvements
  • Ensure data protection compliance

Funding & Reporting

  • Track service impact and outcomes
  • Support funding applications and reporting

Compliance & Safeguarding

  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding and organisational policies
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in administrative or office support roles preferred
  • Experience in customer service or front-line communication
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable using digital systems and databases

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • High attention to detail
  • Professional phone and email etiquette
  • Organised and structured approach to work
  • Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable families
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
