About Us
The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton, dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for women and children. We aim to help women become self-reliant by encouraging them to identify their needs, make informed choices, and create their own solutions.
Our services include a baby bank, charity shop, and a range of community support initiatives for families facing crisis or challenging circumstances.
The Wolverhampton Baby Bank is one of our flagship projects, supporting families with children aged 0–3 by providing essential items such as nappies, clothing, toys, and bedding, along with access to support services and community resources.
About the Role
We are looking for committed and reliable volunteers to join our team as Sorting Team Member (Onsite Volunteer) within our Baby Bank operations.
This is a hands-on role where you will help ensure donated baby items are sorted, checked, and prepared to a high standard before being distributed to families in need. You will play a key role in maintaining efficiency, organisation, and quality across our daily operations.
Key Responsibilities

Sort donated baby clothing, equipment, and essentials by category, size, and condition

Inspect items to ensure they meet safety and quality standards

Remove damaged or unsuitable items in line with guidelines

Label and organise items for storage or distribution

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of sorting areas

Follow operational procedures and safety guidelines
-
Report inventory concerns or shortages to the Project Lead

Support packing and preparation of items for distribution when required

Reliable and able to commit to agreed shifts

Physically able to stand, lift, and move items for extended periods

Comfortable working in a structured, team-based environment

Willing to follow processes and maintain high standards

Previous volunteer or warehouse experience is helpful but not required
Volunteer Commitment

Minimum 12 hours per week (at least 4 hours per shift)

Attend scheduled shifts consistently
