Volunteer Role: Lyonic Scots Society Committee Member (Remote)
4–8 hours per month • Remote • Historic Clan‑Styled Organisation
About Us
The Lyonic Scots are a long‑standing Scottish community with roots stretching back to 1746, formed in the aftermath of Culloden. Today, we are transforming our historic society into a modern, global, clan‑styled organisation — guided by our Clan Chief, The Prince of Scots, ‘The Lyon’.
As our numbers have naturally declined over generations, we are now seeking passionate volunteers from across the UK and around the world to help us grow, strengthen our identity, and shape our future as an emerging micronation‑style community.
The Role
We are recruiting Lyonic Scots Society Committee Members to support the development, governance, and cultural direction of our organisation. This is a remote volunteer role requiring 4–8 hours per month, ideal for someone who enjoys heritage, community‑building, and contributing to something meaningful and unique.
What You’ll Do
-
Contribute to committee meetings and decision‑making
-
Help shape the structure, culture, and future of our clan‑styled society
-
Support the Prince of Scots and the Lyonic Council with organisational tasks
-
Assist with planning community initiatives, heritage projects, and global outreach
-
Bring fresh ideas to help us grow our membership and international presence
-
Promote our values, history, and mission to new audiences
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need Scottish heritage — just passion, reliability, and a willingness to help. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, especially those who are:
-
Community‑minded and collaborative
-
Interested in Scottish culture, clans, or history
-
Organised and proactive
-
Comfortable working remotely
-
Creative thinkers who enjoy shaping new ideas
Experience in charity committees, community groups, or heritage organisations is helpful but not essential.
Why Join Us?
-
Be part of a unique organisation with nearly 280 years of history
-
Help revive and grow a community with global ambitions
-
Gain experience in governance, heritage work, and community leadership
-
Connect with like‑minded people across the world
-
Play a meaningful role in shaping a modern micronation‑style society
Time Commitment
4–8 hours per month, flexible, remote. Meetings are held online.
