Volunteer Role: Volunteer Programme Manager
Join a movement built on care, dignity, and community.
Unlock YOUR Potential is launching in Newham and Tower Hamlets — and we’re looking for an organised, compassionate, people‑centred Volunteer Programme Manager to help coordinate and support the volunteer team that powers our work.
We are a 100% volunteer‑led organisation supporting adults aged 18–67 who face barriers to employment, education, confidence, and wellbeing. Our programmes are trauma‑informed, community‑based, and rooted in human connection.
If you believe people deserve to be seen, heard, and supported — this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
As our Volunteer Programme Manager, you will:
-
Coordinate the day‑to‑day experience of volunteers across all programmes
-
Support volunteers delivering employability, wellbeing, digital skills, mentoring, and life‑skills sessions
-
Manage volunteer rotas, schedules, and communication channels
-
Ensure volunteers feel welcomed, valued, and supported throughout their journey
-
Help deliver inductions, briefings, and check‑ins to maintain quality and consistency
-
Work closely with the Head of People, Culture & Talent and Head of Service Delivery to ensure smooth, safe, trauma‑informed delivery
-
Gather feedback from volunteers and participants to help improve our programmes
-
Keep our volunteer community connected, informed, and inspired
This is a hands‑on coordination role where your work will directly shape the rhythm, reliability, and heart of our movement.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
-
Warm, organised, and values‑driven
-
Experienced in volunteer coordination, programme support, community work, or people‑focused roles
-
Confident managing schedules, communication, and logistics
-
Skilled at building relationships and supporting volunteers
-
Passionate about trauma‑informed, person‑centred practice
-
Ready to help build something meaningful from the ground up
Experience in employability, wellbeing, adult learning, or community development is helpful — but heart, care, and coordination skills matter most.
Why Join Us
-
Be part of a new, community‑powered movement
-
Shape the volunteer experience from day one
-
Work alongside people with lived experience, empathy, and heart
-
Gain programme management experience in a growing charity
-
Make a real difference to adults who feel unseen and unsupported
Time Commitment
- 4–8 hours per week, flexible
- Based in London (with hybrid options)
